Providers, Is there an Honesty Double Standard?

Several weeks ago there was an active thread regarding lying and the need for honesty in this hobby.  My question, Is there a double standard? Should a provider expect or demand total honesty from a client if they lie about their age, weight,  measurements, non-existent past or present modeling career, prehistoric pictures, etc?

is there a double standard? in my world, no. i am always 100% honest and open with clients, have never misrepresented myself in any fashion. anyone who is going to see me knows my true (non-photoshopped) appearance, weight, marital status, age, and whatever else they'd like to know. in return i expect the same honesty from them, because otherwise the whole experience feels false. not to mention the fact that i just do not care for liars.

I've always wondered about the meta-schziodness of this pursuit.

Hobbists and providers knowingly engage in a carnal Kabuki theatre.  How much honestly is the baseline here?  We fool each other and we fool ourselves, what's honesty got to do with it?

I'd say, don't lie about STDs and don't try to rip off $$$ from each other.  Everything else thinking-wise detracts from the pleasure of the illusion.

Keep in mind that a lot of this hobby is about fantasy.  Indeed, a lot is about needful fantasies -- a lot of us are poor schlubs who'll never see a gorgeous young thing with 44DDs in our civvie life if we live to be 100.  We shell out those Franklins and we enter a world where we're someone else.

I'm with Xioming.  As long as the basics are honest, let the fantasies reign!
