Alright, I have visited 3 providers in my life, so I guess I am sort of a newb.  On of those was in Nevada at the Mustang Ranch so I guess it doen't really count.  I tried to see my 4th on Friday and was stood up.  What gets me is that this has happened everytime I have tried to see a provider except the first, at the Mustang Ranch.

The first time I was stood up, I called and set up the appointment with her scheduler and follow the instructions: "Go to this place and then call me and I will give you the hotel room info".  I get to the place early and call the scheduler and he tells me she is almost ready and he will call me back.  I wait 30 minutes and finally call him myself and he says, she is almost ready.  Then a few minutes later he calls me and tells me she was sick.  I rescheduled for the next day and had a great experience.

The second incident, the lady was completely indendent.  Most of our communication was through email.  I was in Milwaukee on business and contacted her for an outcall in my hotel room.  We set up the appointment for 10pm and she verified she would be there by email around 5pm the same day.  When 10pm rolled around I was expecting a knock on my door and it never came.  Around 10:30 I started calling her number but got no answer.  I left a few messages and I tried not to sound angry.  Sometimes things happen, I understand that.  I sent her an email too saying that I was going to bed and that she should not come, I did have to get up in the morning.  She sent back an email saying that her car was hit-and-run.  We recheduled for the next week and we had a great time.

Last week, I emailed the provider I wanted to visit and got back a respoinse from her scheduler that she was not seeing clients on the day I wanted.  She had schedule constraints that prevented her from seeing me during the afternoon.  I agreed to a 5pm appointment on Friday and he got her to open up that day.  Then on Thrusday, I got an email saying that she had a family emergency and would be leaving for CA indefinately.  He said he had another friend that would take my appointment at the same rate and time, she was attractive and had one good TER review so I accepted.  Standard proceedure for getting to the location but when I got to the gas station he wanted me to call from, I never got a call back.  There was alot of traffic and it was the beginning of the holiday weekend so I gave some slack and waited about 45 minutes for a call back.  I tried several times on the number but got no response.  I even got on my gmail account from my phone and sent him an email.  He called me back and left a voicemail saying he wanted to explain.  I have yet to call him back.

Do I just have the worst luck?  I don't want to think that this is common, but I don't really have any other reference points.  Anyway, I have selected another provider to visit next week to scratch this itch I have.  I just hope it works out.

Makes sense, huh?  Maybe a separate line for Flake or No Show...  Or a board to discuss this and other problems -- maybe a Problem Provider board?  Hm...?  Smokey the Diplomat

You at least finally made contact with and had a good time with two of them.  Three times in the course of one year, I got stood up and never even knew why.  Twice it was with providers I had seen recently and had great times with.  All three are very highly rated on TER as well.

I never got any response from any of them despite repeated trying to call and email.

Sometimes you just have to shrug it off and get on with it.  There's still plenty of great people to see.

I know there are others to see but I don't do this very often and when I do I usually am so looking forward to the experience it is a real let down when it falls through.

Me too!! Seems like it would be a great addition to an otherwise very useful site. Possibly a simple 'no show' line on the review, with a few short lines from the hobbiest about what happened. This would keep hobbiests from needlessly bashing providers, while providing useful info.  P.S. I've had this problem too, even from well reviewed providers.

So Miss July becomes Miss June and it's all good. It's just part of the hobby.

I suggest that you avoid any independent or agency that has you calling from a particular gas station. You are lucky that the area was busy, you could have gotten mugged.
The situation with well reviewed ladies is understandable, they sometimes have problems that cause them to miss appointments, and sometimes they just flake out. But each made up with you.
I suggest that you go to your regional board and post there asking members to PM you the names of good agencies and independents. You will need a VIP membership for PM, if you do not have one.

A recent thread on the LA board also points to this persistent problem.

No show/No calls is a problem for both the ladies and gents.  People that continually do this should be called out.  It would save everyone time and money.

I understand that once in a while, things come up at the last minute.  However, when this type of scenario happens all the time, people should be aware of it.
