I received a text from a lady I saw before, letting me know she was visiiting my town again. I know some guys are opposed to getting those texts but I am okay with escorts letting me know when they are back.  I was about to respond to her text when I realized the text was sent as a group text! There was a whole bunch of other numbers she texted to, and now I had all these phone numbers of other johns and they had mine! I have seen complaints on the boards before about ladies sending group emails without using bcc, but I have never heard of group texting! Thats just fking crazy! What is she thinking? Out of curiousity I googled some of the phone numbers, and got all kinds of personal information about some guys. Names, addresses, where they worked. Doctors, bankers, attorneys! One number went to a craigslist ad for someone selling a classic motorcycle. Many numbers didn't have any good returns. These were probably the guys with hobby phones, but I was amazed at how much info is available on so many others with a simple google search. I assume most hobbyists would respect the other guys privacy, but one person could easily do some damage with the information available from that text. What happened to discretion? This was not  a fly by night lady either. Over 80 reviews here. All good ones

I could see extortion, blackmail, or just plain outing because of this. I guess this is another reason to get a burn phone for the hobby. This is a reason I never thought of before.

And that is just frightening.

but, i hear ya, not a smart move on her part. ( is she 20 something? ) That generation and all their electronics, need to learn to use wisely.

....i'm not a hobbyist. Everyone on it could see the same thing meaning everyone else's emails/names (real or fake)  and so on....i'm sure of it if I could see it all.

Every text you send is kept at the service provider indefinitely. If you have a hobby phone I guess that's fine but not for the gentlemen who doesn't. It is kept on your account and the ladies. If LE gets her phone they can get all numbers and any texts she has sent even if she deleted them. If your wife gets wind something is up she can do the same.

Might be time to change that hobby phone.  I change mine once a year or so, but would do so after this event.  My regulars remember me, or I can tell them what my old number was.  One-time dates I don't need to keep updated.

Also, be sure that your name on your hobby email is fake.  Some people have their real name set up in their hobby email.  So when the email appears in an inbox, their whole name is visible.  

I have said it before.  For those of you afraid of having your hobby phone found, that's a lot easier to explain than what can happen if you use your real phone.  This is just one more example.

Keep the hobby phone locked with a unique code.  If your SO finds it, simply say "I found it in the mall parking lot.  I am waiting for the owner to call.  It's locked, so I can't see the contacts."  That should work for you once.  And be sure you have a reason ready why you were at the mall.  I'd use a mall, because there's not one store you'd turn it into, unlike if you found it at the Home Depot parking lot or someplace.

Not a lawyer but understand that texts are not actually kept beyond 5 years and are only available via the primary account holder's request or a court order.

I did have an untracable phone, plus I am single and not an important person if I am outed, but I am changing my number anyway, and not seeing the lady anymore. I feel for the doctor and attorney and banker,and even the guy selling the harley. If I wanted to be an asshole (or anyone with the texts who wanted to be an asshole for that matter) there is extortion material now. "I'll give you xxx for that bike. I know some stuff about you." Or I could see trying to get preferential service or a great loan rate form the bank etc. I know most guys because they want to be discreet themselves would never out a brother, but that info in the wrong hands of just one person. A jaded client, maybe a wife intercepted the text and now has all these other guys names besides finding out her husband cheated. Scary shit!

As I said before, I wasn't even worried about myself being outed, but I feel for some of those other guys, and I just can't believe a well reviewed lady who I thought was intelligent, didn't think twice about doing this!

So is fktard while we are at it. Just sayin.
