and leave key in room.  They do not know or care when you actually leave.  They have their money.

Pimps, drug dealers, and other such felonious individuals share this in common - they always pay cash.

Common m.o. of police is to check with the clerk and get a list of all occupants that paid cash for their room. Then they start running names. Especially true at low end establishments.

Get a prepaid Visa or MC. Cash transactions are viewed suspiciously.

just mention that they are working on your house...and broke the damned a/c, or heater, or water pipe....anything. It's easy to drop into conversation and move right along.
They'll never mail the receipt to your house. If you're worried about it, get a p.o. box and use that address. Always take the key cards with you. Your info in on the magnetic strip.

I recently saw my ATF girl who is local, but is no longer a provider.  She still has 4 or 5 "special friends", and I am so thankful that she chose me as one of them.  I see her about once or twice per year if she needs some additional income.  She reaches out to me and I never contact her.  She is such a wonderful lady I would probably just give her the money and just have lunch with her for all the great memories she has given me.  

Anyway, on our last encounter she told me she no longer felt comfortable getting a hotel room for us for just a 3 hour appointment, so I told her I would get it.  Well, it was a lot harder than I thought.  I was in a nice area of town and got a room at a nice, clean budget hotel similar to a Homewood Suites.  I was just going to pay the clerk with cash, but then when the standard questions were asked I sort of became apprehensive.  I gave my ID which says I am local, so I started to think the clerk might become suspicious.  I told him I missed my plane at the airport and I had a headache and just needed to rest for a few hours.  I told him I did not want to drive 20 miles back home (I know, it was not very clever, but I got nervous).

Well, I got the room and saw my friend who met me there about 30 minutes later.  We had a great time and then I thought I would check out.  I did not want to just leave and have them place a receipt under my door that night only to have the hotel call my house to see if I wanted the receipt.  Besides, it had my personal information on it too.  I think you know where I am going here.....

So, my question is, what is the proper protocol to be discreet when getting a hotel room for just a few hours, without leaving any traces of me behind it?  Any ideas are much appreciated.

This is a great topic...I've been wondering about this myself as a lot of interesting providers are outcall only. I don't think there's a settled opinion yet, though.

Who Cares... You could have bad credit.. LOL.  As long as you don't have an assembly line of woman visiting you should be ok.  Guys and Girls meet at hotels all the time. Many affairs take place @ the local Hotel

When I get a room locally I usually say something about my house is being fumagated and I need a place to hang out til the air clears.

I have only been asked one time why I was leaving so soon after checking in (the gentleman had me get the room in my name and he was the only one I saw)   -   I told the clerk that my man and I wanted a place to make hot monkey love and he's married and I gotta kid.

The clerk smiled and blushed and I just kept on walking.

The clerk really doesn't care if you are there for 10 minutes or 10 hours.  Paying with cash is fine...but the rest of the ideas generally won't work.  You either have to leave a card imprint for incidentals or a larger sum of cash when you check in.  I leave a card imprint, creating that paper trail is a biggie for some people but I don't worry about it, but either way you still have to go to the desk when you leave to pay the bill.  It is very unusual that the hotel will allow you to pay your bill up front allowing you to just leave when you want to.  So...simple enough, either leave a card imprint or a large sum of cash at check in, do your business, and then settle the tab.  Asked any questions?  Tell them that you needed a bathtub to hack up your ex-wife...or tell them you wanted to watch a porno and jerk off...or whatever, they really don't care.

One of my favorite things to do is to get a room, do what I have to, leave to return to work, but then go back to the hotel to relax alone for a while after work and maybe even take a little nap...sort of like that feeling you get when your SO leaves you alone on a Saturday afternoon...watch what you want on TV, scratch your nuts, burp...whatever you want to do!!  Like a little mini one hour vacation.

And two urban myths to dispell immediately...police can not go to a hotel and check the register for cash transactions, it a violation of privacy and they would need a search warrant...and even if they did for some reason...what wrong doing does it prove?  And your personal info is not imprinted onto the mag strip of the key.  The mag strip does link back to the hotel computer and the info is contained there.  If someone got the key they would need to hack into the hotel computer to get any info on you.

The only thing I would add is receipts are sometimes sent to your home address.  I've had this happen twice from Vegas hotels.

when checking out say something like, "I'm close to my limit so I would prefer to pay with cash".

The hotel doesn't care and believe me, most of the weekend hotel guests are locals at many hotels. People use hotels for affairs, provider dates, civvie dates, and the like. Pay, play, be a good guest, and have fun.  Of course if a lady has men in and out of her room all day she could draw attention, and dare I post that off-duty cops work security at hotels, develop relationships with employees and do get info on "frequent flyers".  They are looking for drug operatives mainly.  Just be discreet and all will go well. When I check into a hotel, I just check-in. Rarely do I give an explanation.  Most of the time I have my date right by side -- the clerks don't care and may even get a kick outta seeing a racey little rendezvous.  I just leave the key card in the room.  I'm single and dont care about the recept.

prepaid cards are not accepted at hotels

Ummm.. yes, pre-paid cards ARE accepted at all hotels.. they're the same as a debit card. Although some hotels will require a "deposit", and can hold the funds for up to 30 days before releasing them... if you pay with cash, you can get deposit back when you check out. Although in my experience, only Marriott's ($100 deposit) and some Hilton's require a deposit. I always pay cash in my home town, and have NEVER been mailed a receipt, and I don't recall ever checking out of a hotel. They have their money, they don't care, and if you paid cash, most hotels give you your receipt upon check-in. Some, like the Hilton, may put a receipt under your door the following morning, but again, if you're not there to retrieve it, they won't mail it to you.

Prepaid cards are taken at hotels & I generally stay at the higher star rated hotels.  You can also use your prepaid card for incidentals, they will authorize a certain amount & it generally won't come off your account 7-14 days.

Great idea for online booking - but my problem is that i am still very fearful to show them id - do they write down the DL info?  what other form of id would work if i paid with a prepaid card?
