graduates from medical school,finishes her residency, and lands an excellent prestigious, and time consuming job at some distance and writes irregularly but says the city is too small and she doesn't want to hurt her career so she has --with regret-- stopped providing.

wow, the fact that she even considered to still provide is very fascinating.  As I posted before, some of us can get it unless we paid for it but for the lovely ladies, they can get a man at any times without the risk associated with the hobby.

she had to fight the urge.  She is in a middle sized city with a small medical school, she is an assistant professor, she is afraid it will ruin her career.

That is why I am dying to understand how providers feel.  I know they are all different, but she is not the first who loves doing it and I am trying to get my head around it.  She could, believe me, get laid when ever she wants, but that isn't it. She loves the whole scene (with some exceptions.)  I met another woman like that, mature provider in the mid west who just loves the scene. One day, I will get a few providers to explain it to me so I understand.

and the marriage never happens. I was just with a great young lady, who left to get married, she didn't marry the guy, she gets a job as a paralegal, then the law firm has a round of lay offs and she needs to pay the rent, the car loan etc. So she gets back in the hobby. For how long, who can say!
