which is money volunteerally offered in appreciation of a good time; and negotiation over a fee for enhanced services.
It's best to keep the two seperate.
If the massesuse says some like: "Are you interested in anything more than the usual?", that is the start of negotiations and you take it from there.
AMPS I haved seen here in the northeast generally charge about $75 to $150 for a half hour to an hour massage with (maybe) a hand release, and the massesuse clothed. Generally speaking you get a pretty good massage if you insist on good firm pressure.
For a full tilt full service (ask for a cover!), BBBJ, etc., the fee would go up at least $200 to $300 more depending upon whether you want a second cup.
As the AMPS I used to go to in Conn. are closed, last I looked anyways, this info may be a bit out of date and other parts of the country could be more.
I recall that San Francisco AMPS, at least in the Union Square area were quite a bit more.
After the session is over is when you offer a tip based upon how you felt about the session.

Most AMPs rotate the attendants around the country pretty frequently, from what I read, so a tip for tip's sake may be wasted--the attendant probably will be gone when you come back.
From what I've gleaned about that industry (and it is a facinating industry) careful records are kept of customers including what they tip. These records are shared with other places so when you return, they know who you are.
The best gals are given access to the better customers, so your generous tip could still earn you dividends.
Given my limited sample in NYC the house's fee is $200/hour for table shower+fs and $100/hour for table shower+hand release. For the $200 session I tipped $40 and for the $100 session I tipped $60 because I felt that for $100 the house's cut was probably more than 50%.
