The hobby is really getting more difficult

So I am doing a business trip to an east coast city and thought I might arrange a little pleasure time during my stay. I availed myself of TER and did some research on a half a dozen ladies who had great photos and a number of recent reviews that were positive.  All of them were at least $$$$$ per hour.  I reached out to all of them and got positive interest and I thought “well this is all looking good”.  And then every one of them asked for a photo ID (they allowed me to block out the data on the ID) and every one of them wanted a deposit.  Deposits ranged from 30% to 50% of the fee.  When I offered to instead connect them with providers I have been seeing for over a decade as an alternative, not one would agree to it.  WTF!  I finally found one who seems to be very attractive, in the price range, doesn’t ask for a deposit and willing to accept references.  We are still texting about a date/time so by no means is this confirmed yet.  I may have to move back to seeing a couple of regulars I have long standing relationships with and give up on the idea of meeting new talent.  This shit is getting crazy!

I don't know that I've seen any girl with a terminal case of GPS asking $$,$$$ an hour. From my searches that I ran just now, there are plenty of options in the $$$ range, and some decent ones in the mid-side of $$$ that don't seem to advertise deposits, so unless you have really specific tastes, this seems like a solvable problem.

Also, odds are, you're meandering too much. You should be leading with your exact booking time/quantity/rough location. There should be very little back and forth to nail down a time/place. Don't book days/weeks in advance, tomorrow or the day after is as far out as you need, booking something weeks from now is a great way to fall into the deposit trap. Guarantee if you make a new email address, and try to book all those girls that wouldn't accept references before, for a date tomorrow night, you'll have better luck.

I will admit though, I'm a west coast kinda guy, so, east coast might be worse, and if it is worse, it's because of suckers cowtowing to deposit demands.

I'm guessing he's saying $500.

to me a period in there, like $$$.$$.  Then it could be anything from $100 to $999.

I agree, deposits are for suckers.

BTW, don't call me Shirley.  Lol

So to be clear, the price range I was looking at was 500 (hence the five $ signs)
I started asking prospective ladies on Monday looking for appts for Friday or Saturday the same week
When I scanned TER for attractive ladies with a good number of very positive reviews in the area most were 500 and above.  Those available for less either were not particularly attractive or had mixed results for reviews.  Any even many of those that fit what I was looking for at a lower price point still wanted photo Id’s or deposits.
The only way this is going to change is for the vast number of hobbyists to say NO on deposits.

A take on the well known Nancy Reagan line regarding drugs. JUST SAY NO to deposits.

I'm assuming that is one dollar sign too many, and you're looking in the 1k range. I have found providers in that range to be more likely to require a deposit. TBH, I do not mind a deposit if she is well reviewed, because my couple of hundred bucks is not worth her getting review calling her out for scamming.

That said, there should be plenty of options in the $$$ range, and these options should include those who do not require a deposit or photo ID. Hopefully, the lady you are chatting with now works out.

OR is it the price od admission that is making this difficult?
Your history lately reflects that 1000 is kinda the norm for you. By the way, 1000 is more then I would consider but mad props to you.
But I have to say, things have changed.

have become much more common. Offering a reference in lieu of PII or deposits is frowned upon by many providers and could end having you labeled as a “time waster”.

If you’re trying to book a date far out with a provider you haven’t seen before, you can expect a deposit request. If I were you, I would move on to other providers and take the advice of booking just a day or two out. In that situation, a deposit requirement may be waived. Good luck!

If you want to see a reputable provider this is the norm. I am far from "high end" with my price point, I don't do deposits, but yes, you have to cough up your info if you want to see me. I *do* currently accept P411 and I will also accept references, but even this has been becoming more difficult because dirt balls have given me fake P411 account numbers and also have given me "references" for providers they have never seen. Maybe you should let the dirt balls in question (and I know of at least one that does post on here) that this is NOT OK and then causes issues for all clients and makes the whole industry more difficult and dangerous.
There are way more clients than there are providers. If you want to see a reputable provider, myself included, I would highly recommend setting something up at least a week in advance. I am already 3/4 prebooked for my next tour that is next month. In this economy it is a seller's market and this does also include sex work.

to be real, AND they should be providers who are well-reviewed on TER.  I recognize the problems when references don't response to requests about whether a customer is legit, but if a provider doesn't have time for this type of screening, then she will love a certain segment of potential customers, like me.

I also agree that there are many more customers than providers, but on an individual basis, there are way more providers than I could ever hope to see during my remaining lifetime, so as a screening strategy for me, as an individual, I don't have to compromise my personal info to find somebody who will take my money for a few hours of sex.

Sometimes I confuse easily. Why would a provider who does not do references as screening love you as a customer? I thought you used references in lieu of RW or P4?

You know that feeling you get when you know you missed something? I got that RN. Just sarcasm that went over my head? I tell people the hair didn’t fall out, it’s just that you can’t grow grass on a racetrack!

The only type of provider that "loves" him are those that don't speak English and are so desperate for cash so they are willing to seeing anyone and do anything (including BBFS). The providers he sees have much, much lower standards for what is considered a "quality" client.

If you read more of my posts, you would know I don't see providers that don't speak English and/or who offer BBFS.

What is YOUR definition of a "quality client?"  What behaviors or characteristics do you look for before a customer becomes a "quality client."  Obviously, you can't make that determination until after you have met, so what are you looking for.

Well, for starters, calling providers whores, ugly, stupid, and fat and calling every gentleman that comes to our defense a "simp" very quickly disqualifies you as a quality client or as a quality human being for that matter. Obviously I, as well as many other providers, have no reason to waste their time meeting you as your many, many posts speak volumes as to your very low caliber.

haven't met with me already.  You'd be surprised at some of the well-known providers, including some Ms. TERs of the past, that had a visit from CDL and didn't know it.  Part of the abrasiveness of CDL is built into the character in order to wave off providers who might think they know who I am in real life.  This combined with not reviewing indies under my CDL handle works like a charm in deflecting suspicion.

I can't remember calling individual providers any of these terms directly except for stupid, because its hard for most of them to post here for any length of time without appearing as such.  However, I have said that I will not see providers who are fat or ugly, but I have never made either of those references about you.  However, even if you think the shoe fits in your case, I will still not say it about you.  Lol

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what's YOUR excuse for your own abrasiveness?  Lol

If you didn't exist I'd have to invent you.
Hmmmm.....maybe I did?

Jesus Christ you are a loser. Pound sand Lion.

struck a nerve with my post.  Which part of my post was the trigger that made you lose your shit?

Your reviews are literally filled with providers who offer BBFS. I'm not saying you use that service, because I have nothing to prove otherwise. But you're saying they don't even offer it? The links for those you reviewed says otherwise.

Someday I will travel Forward, and return to the land of badgers and cheese heads. I hope to be quality enough client for you to love me. Now, that might sound like shameless flattery, but I can make up for that with… well that’s personal!

[Apparently this place doesn’t allow italics. Isn’t that something-ist? Gotta be some kind of an ist there.]

love was a typo, should be "lose".  It will make more sense now.  In other words, if they don't take references for screening they will lose my business.  I do not give RW information to providers or agencies.  Cue my embarrassment.  Lol

Side Note:    You CAN grow grass on a racetrack, it's called a "Turf Course", and most American race tracks have them.  Some horses run better on dirt, others on grass.  Hair is a separate matter.  Lol

Happens to everybody I guess. I realized after posting that lose would make it all make sense and it was Shirley that. But why edit the post and ruin a perfectly half-decent chrome dome joke?

Hmmmmm. You also said responses instead of respond and higher up you had a “me” that was trying to be a “be”.  Just saying you’re slippin’ a lil bit. Not like you. Probably distracted by the flooding. I’m imagining a pontoon boat full of bikinis right outside your window.

Turf course, sure sure. But the volume and velocity of the traffic I was referring to is more like Talladega, where they wanna go =fast. They got any grass out there? LoL

BTW, don’t call me Shirley is my line. I believe you know this. Just because you saw the thread before I did, doesn’t mean that isn’t a party foul! Oh, it's all right. I'm sure we can handle this situation maturely, just like the responsible adults that we are. Isn't that right, Mr. Poopy Pants?

I do LOVE fig newtons!

I knew I’d find a link to this clip as soon as I saw your subject line. Wish I thought of it lol. Love that show!

Re: And some are muddahs.....

I feel like I wrote his post. Many may call me an old timer or out of touch and they may be right. On the other hand I have sent $3500 deposits to fly someone in to town along with more cash at the airport gate. What I did not do was send a picture of myself and both parties had good P-411 and TER history. All of my meetings like this have turned out very well. What does not work is to see a few twitter or X post vs a request for my picture and detailed info along with a  possible large deposit. Like munchinmuffin I am doubling down with regulars locally and hunt out old school providers when I travel. The great news is old school providers are still out there. Also there are many new providers who operate in the old school manor. Much harder to find but thankfully they are still out there.

It is getting much more challenging to set up a date, especially with new providers. Fees, deposits and demand for screening are getting more common. I know that the providers who have been around a while are the ones I feel most comfortable with. Giving up personal info is not something we should be doing- especially with the new providers who we know very little about and have zero reviews. When a newer provider demands those things I’ll move along to someone else.

Good luck!

I would agree with this. If you are looking at a new provider please do as much research as possible. Scammers are everywhere in this industry and yes, we need to work together to keep everyone safe. I know it can be embarrassing, but if anyone ever gets scammed please post the info to warn everyone.

I like you say stick with old providers been around 14 years

But we still need white lists or references or deposits or something for way to make sure we can be safe too

But one thing you can be sure is your information is safe with me and your deposit..

I only ask for a 150 deposit and only for first time dates. I only ask for ID if there's other way to verify like no provider references, LinkedIn, TER or P411 ID.

IMO.  The deposit is modest enough that most guys would not balk, since you are a well-known provider, and it's only on the first session for a new customer.  Only requiring ID if there are no refs is the best way to screen.  It gives your customers options rather than take-it-or-leave-it like some of the ladies who have posted on this subject require.

Deposits became the norm during COVID because too many clients wasted time and cancelled bookings. If you want to book a multi-hour date in advance with you have to reserve that time. Hotels are expensive, providers have up front costs and can't afford to eat them or give up other opportunities in the event you get cold feet and cancel. I don't like deposits and am very selective if/when I pay them. It is more than fair, however, and shitty clients are to blame.

I will not, however, do any invasive screening. Provider references only. No LinkedIn and never a photo ID. Providers here and there will prattle on about "reputable providers being safe with your info" but take that with a grain of salt. 90% of providers can probably be trusted but it only takes one bad egg to fuck up your life. Do you want some provider calling your employer or tracking you down? I don't, so no personal information gets given.

and cause to lose a client she could have booked in your spot. Does she get some compensation..,see what am getting at. You don't  like to lose money do You?
Have a conscience and be reasonable and realistic. Think about  others and put yourself in their place for   honesty sake.

You can actually wait till you are in town to book,no need to book in advance. If  advance  booking is your policy  and don't intend on being flexible then deal with what comes with that.

Yeah, deposits and $1000+ rates are causing me to participate less and less.   If I see a deposit requirement, I just move on.

Same here. Don’t do it very often but will sometimes try to book a provider well in advance, especially if I book a room for a certain date. This is once in a blue moon for me though but might happen in June and again in September of this year. But it will be with confirmation within three days of proposed date.

Honestly, the deposit issue can easily be solved if the provider just gave the client a choice on the matter by offering discounts to clients who pay the deposit versus guys who pay in cash.

Guys are trying to avoid losing money to scammers and no-shows. Even with the allure of a discounted rate, they are still exposed to unscrupulous individuals taking their money.

Yes exactly. To me, something like “you can pay well under MSRP if you pay most/all in advance” sounds way more scammy than a simple “this is the price and I need 150 of it up front to block out the time for you”.

Deposit scams do happen either way obviously, but the discount doesn’t make it less likely. Actually seems like a red flag to me. It’s really easy to accept a lower rate per hour when you have no intention of showing up.

That wouldn’t solve anything. Non deposit mongers would complain about having to pay a premium.
