Actually it's not. I am amazed that people can't figure it out. You guys that can't stand when 10's are given out should just ignore the numbers completely and read the reviews.

And, yes, it is a joke and not simply because of gratuitous 10s, so don't put words in my mouth. And it's not just the numerical grading system that's faulty because the Juicy Details are often not the best guide either.
What is true is that it's possible to successfully use the reviews despite these flaws (which I did point out) by knowing which reviewers can be trusted, using back channel to find out additional info and developing a network of friends in this game who can refer girls to you.
PS: If you'd bothered to check my reviews before posting your little rant, you'd know that I'm not remotely a "low-scorer."

Yes, to many a 7 is an insult because of rating inflation. Us gals do suffer for a rating like that. This is all caused by the providers who do bitch about their ratings. Some do, some don't. The ones who don't, get fucked in the end. The great thing is that the providers who bully get back channeled or not reviewed at all. It does balance out for the most part. The honest ones get better back channel info about them. Unfortunately most guys are not that suave on the hobby to seek this info out.
My favorite train wrecks are when a gal complains about her review.... because she wanted a 10 (and said so on the boards, cough cough). Funny stuff when a bunch of guys speak up and say she should be thankful they didn't review her lol. I love the busting out of anyone who thinks their shit is the best! Best reading ever on the boards ha ha. No one is a perfect 10 for everyone, but some think they are.
I definitely encourage anyone to make an ass of themselves via post a thread on their shortcomings. Great laugh factor for me! Best stuff is posting and then bites you in the a$$. 
I disagree with your statement that those of use who do not manipulate reviews (and therefore have 7s) are "fucked in the end." Or maybe I do agree, because I'm getting fucked a lot. My 7s haven't hurt my business at all -- I'm as busy as I want to be, and regularly decline appointments because I'm already booked.
I really think the supposed negative effect of 7s is overstated by providers and hobbyists alike. The number of hobbyists who only see 9s and 10s, for example, is quite small in the whole scheme of things.

And it is statistically proven. You ask reviewers to rank people as you do today, and the after their ranking, you ask for a conjoint analysis of several other folks that they had seen, you then form a synthetic forced curve for each reviewer, assuming that they can judge 'Experience A was better than experience B'

Couldn't find too much on it except the article below with regard to salary and bonuses. They take a bit of a jaundiced eye to it.
With reality and a better time all the way around ! Also in many cases less drama ,and less $$$$ s ! Also the guy is at ease with writing a review , less pressure to have to give a fucking 10 , and can go up or down a point or two without pressure .

Not that there weren't issues before with grade inflation, but the problem got exponentially worse when TER made the top 100 lists.
Providers want to be on those lists and when they are on them, they don't want to drop off of them. They use the lists for marketing and to raise their rates.
Before the lists came out, 7s were good scores and 8s were great, and 10s were closer to "once in a lifetime." Now the providers need 10s just to get on the lists (or to not drop off if they are already on), and are insulted by 8s.
I think TER should get rid of the top lists.
If you're a gorgeous, 20-something, leggy blonde, like Blaire Fierre, or any of the other gorgeous Babes in L.A., why waste time?

"Mathesar" suddenly acquired the #1, 2, and 3 providers as his regular ATFs (how he afforded this on his fixed income of a retired actuary I do not know; but he did!) and for several years thereafter the same providers were ALWAYS in the top three positions.
Since so much money and political capital were at stake it was only natural for TER to pick up the baton when Mathesar retired from doing his report

I would think scores should be based in comparison to sex in general as it would say, "Yeah, if you don't normally hire ladies, at least hire this one for the day you just wanna' be guaranteed good sex with a smokin' hot girl/lady/milf/college co-ed/mature hottie/woman."

Yeah, I use them too but not the way you think... Frankly, anything below 7/7 is a cause for concern... if you came... she should be able to get that. The proof is in the details & you have to read them for yourself. Very often an isolated low NUMBER score, reads as better or the hobbiest explains HIS share of the fault. I discount a single low NUMBER score per page of reviews. What I am concerned is repeated wide swings. But again I am interested in the written text.

As long as the "Appearance" score's neither have nor require any standard I summarily ignore them. And if I don't see the prerequisites needed for the respective "Performance" score in the body of several reviews I'm on to the next
My latest provider looks as good as Sophia Vergara, in my opinion, although she has DD's and not EE's or whatever size Ms. Vergara is. In terms of performance, the provider is exceptional.
I gave her a ten because she's better in the looks and body department than other providers in the 9's, and judging from the reviews, she's better in performance than most.
Really, a 10 for me would be someone like Sophia Loren, and anyone else would be 9.5 at best.
