You know, it's funny. We try to dress it up by using terms like "Hobby," "Provider," and "Hobbyist." We "pay for the time" with the lady; we collectively look down our noses at Craig's List and the like because of the seediness; and we generally, as a group, try to turn this hobby of ours into a respectable Gentlemanly past-time rather than what it really is. Money for sex with no strings attached.
Who are we kidding here? In our society, at this time, our whole existence is about breaking the fucking norms and laws about fucking. Yet, lately, there has been a large push to castigate those of our sisters and brothers for giving us a little reality check in the language, opinions, and visuals that they use to express themselves.
This site is the best multi-layered resource out there for making the hobby safer, more predictable, and much more enjoyable. These boards are not the end-all of it. The reviews, ads, and sharing of information are the lifeblood of the site's mission. IMHO. The boards are a bonus because we are able to discuss things here with like minded people who should be the least judgmental people we encounter in our pursuits because they're breaking the fucking law with us.
We need to lighten the fuck up, though and come down off the Cross so the wood can be used elsewhere. If Fuzzy posts a picture of a consenting porn actress engaging in rough sex (which is a form of BDSM, btw you judgmental souls) to highlight the "open your eyes" part of his post, does he need to be freaking castigated by the PC police and actually accused of advocating violence to women. If you get "violence to women" out of that pic in that context, IMHO, you are looking to pick a fight.
If an alias posts an opinion about the appropriateness of an OT post on this board, they have just as much right to that opinion as the original poster had to make their post and shouldn't be attacked as "cowards" or "assholes." I'd prefer the aliases let the board's moderators do the moderating, but that doesn't lessen their right to post opinions.
Disagreement with points raised regarding "the value of a whore," or whether or not NCNS is the Armageddon of the hobby, or that no matter how intrusive the screening information, it's request is an inalienable right does not automatically equate to misogynistic ramblings of a neanderthal deserving to be vilified and attacked. It's just disagreement.
This isn't a site for the lovesick forlorn. It's not a place to repetitively issue thread upon thread about how women need to be respected and treated, either. For Fuck's sake, we all know that and the active posters on this board don't need constant lessons about it. Find any thread where some asshole troll has come on this board advocating the disrespect and debasement of women in this hobby without getting rightfully vilified, attacked, and run off by the board participants as a whole. You can't. Preacher, meet the choir.
The bottom line is that we all get our own unique thing out of this hobby. I get the temporary connections I desire through sex and intimacy; some guys get straight up, wham bam thank you mam, NSA sex with anonymous women; some guys get long term ATF relationships; and some guys try to use it as a dating service (more power to them). Some get a combination of some of the above, or something different than anything said before. In each case, as long as there is no intentional hurting of another, NONE of us should be judgmental in any way.
Disagreement should also not lead to board stalking either. I've noticed lately that some cannot take natural disagreement, and tend to carry the argument into other threads and even onto other boards. I don't think I am the only one who has noticed this either. This kind of fucking drama has a stifling affect on the board and is more responsible non-participation as well as the dreaded use of aliases. I hope it stops.
Now, all of this may just be me, but I've heard feedback across the site that others feel the same way. If not, I'll shut up and go away and please feel free to disregard this post.
My 2 cents.

Your post is for the most part thoughtful, DC, and I agree that as a general rule this board should be pretty open. You have a slight problem with consistency, though. You spend a couple paragraphs disparaging the PC police who vocally object to things they find inappropriate, then assert that "we" don't need to be told women should be protected and respected because, to quote:
"Find any thread where some asshole troll has come on this board advocating the disrespect and debasement of women in this hobby without getting rightfully vilified, attacked, and run off by the board participants as a whole."
Is there some place I can go to find exactly where the line is between an asshole troll advocating disrespect, and a jovial jokester posting funny pictures as a poke in the eye to society at large? Bottom line, that is a judgment that each of us makes for him or herself, and the fact that some put the line in a different place doesn't mean they are necessarily wrong.
To use Fuzzy Phallus as an example, since you did, I think many of the things he posts are very funny; some are damned sexy and eerily topical; some of them get into uncomfortable, but not objectionable, territory; and just every once in a while he goes right overboard. I would point out that the one time I saw objections to Fuzzy's post was when he threatened to punish a provider who posts more than one ad in a week, in the manner shown in the clip he linked. The clip showed a girl having her mouth and throat abused real vigorously. I know, I know, she was a paid professional participating in the activity voluntarily, but that doesn't change the fact that she was pretty damned uncomfortable at the time of that clip.
Personally, I can see a difference between posting a clip for the entertainment and amusement of those who choose to watch, and posting a clip as a threat to those who disobey the rules, even when it is perfectly clear the threat won't be carried out. I wasn't moved to object to Fuzzy's post, but I wasn't bothered when a couple people did object. Fuzzy, that's not disrespect for you, it's just an honest reaction. Simple truth is, a provider who posts too often might be kicked off the board for a while, but she won't be mouthfucked into unconsciousness, and she probably shouldn't be threatened with it.
that's the main reason I've quit contributing as much, tired of the BS. I'll be happy to just sit back and continue reading, smiling and feeling sorry for the PC morons.
1000% right! Good for you posting a well thought out and intelligently delivered message. I believe this site and this discussion facility are emotional life savers for many people. It certainly is for me!
Lastly, I also find that any demeaning comments regarding women on this site are smashed at once by the vast majority of participants. I love women. Damn, I love women!
Now, if the demeaning rumors would just stop about my small dick!
by (my count) at least 5 providers is not gonna happen? sheese... and after I spent a whole hour with them... and they told me I was the only one who made them cum?
how much of a downer can you force me to have.....???
just kiddin
Yes, I agree with you. I do believe in a good debate, as long as someone is somewhat intelligent about it and has some manners, or does not distort my words. And, as far as the "White Knight" thing goes. I'm very sick of hearing people use that term. Who gives a rat's ass! It used to be the norm for men to be polite to ladies, so if someone is being polite and sticking up for someone they think is right then don't chastize him/her. Only certain men who have never met the provider they are belittling would do something so vicious. Most men who get to know some of us realize we are intelligent women with good hearts, even though we're HOs. Yes! I said it: HOs. I hate that word but it's funny in this context.
Like everyone else says, "If you don't like it, then move the fu_ _ on."
However, I do think some people get carried away with the whole GFE thing and become hurt if a provider doesn't show more feelings. I've always maintained that position on the board. Now some of my PC followers, please don't get upset. I have a great time with my clients and -- YES -- I hopefully provide a memorable encounter, and Yes! I have maintained friendships with a few of my clients/friends. However, when it comes right down to it, when I retire (if I ever do) I will still be friends with some of you, but it doesn't mean I will sleep with all of you for free. Let's be realistic about the business. I think most are, but there are a few who are star gazers and -- you know what -- if it makes them happy then so be it. Just try not to fall in love with someone who likes you but doesn't love you. If, by chance, two people really connect then good for them, but don't expect or hope for it.
Continue to hobby on -- and hopefully not hobble.
Hugs,
Ciara

but go ahead and beat the Alpha Male drums here for all the "real men" and the ladies who love them.
It's a pity people have such narrow definitions.
Why don't we all just realize that we are a diverse group with differing tastes and opinions, who share primarily one thing in common, and share the darn board like grown-ups?
The board should serve multiple purposes which do not have to be conflicting or bring its members into competition or conflict. No one member or subgroup has or should have the right to dictate what the board may or may not be used for. This place is the property of TER. It exists for their stated purposes and for those other uses which they allow.
When i / you / we see a post that does not suit us we should move on. *unless* the post is advocating something detrimental to the hobby we all share.
This is a playground for people who look like adults but don't want to grow up. Shouldn't be sooprized when folks here don't want to be mature about it.... especially the so called hobbyists. The providers are mostly pros - shazaam they must be laughing up their sleeves at so called hobbyist community. Bunch of overgrown children. It is a fun goldarn game. But don't count on anyone here to play nice, share their toys or clean up their dam mess.
