Name That Movie!3720 reads

Singleton has relinquished his universal rights to the NAME-THAT-MOVIE(TM) franchise and has allowed any and all of us to play this game from time to time. Especially at times when the pulse of the board gets too low (or too political) and when some injected levity is deemed necessary.

This first installment of the public-domain version of  NAME-THAT-MOVIE (sans TM) features this "zany" quote (submitted by someone who shall remain anonymous for now)

.....................................................................
"Jacking off in the shower... THIS will be the highlight of my day."
.....................................................................

This alias will be deleted immediately after this post, so anyone can pick it up for future use (and to remain anonymous should the quote or its origin make one feel uncomfortable or embarrassed)

Since we don't wish to invoke the wrath of the "Topic Gods" future players should perhaps keep "topical" movies or subject matter in mind (frankly this installment's quotation sounds right on the money!)

Enjoy!

(and don't take things too seriously)

"Funny business, a woman's career. The things you drop on your way up the ladder so you can move faster. You forget you'll need them when you get back to being a woman."

Never would have gotten the movie.  Great line!

instead of this: "You forget you'll need them when you get back to being a woman"

it could've ended like: "You forget you'll need them when you go back down that ladder"

!?

The actress who uttered the line? The movie, and the actor she uttered it to!

"I was reading a book the other day...Yes. It's all about civilization or something, a nutty kind of a book. Do you know that the guy said that machinery is going to take the place of every profession?"

"Oh, my dear, that's something you need never worry about."

Whatever it is, judging by the dialogue, it is from the forties or the thrties, like a scene with Mae West and W.C Fields.  I might be wrong, but if that is the case, that may be why no one has identified it yet.

Then again, it could be a sixties sex comedy with Shirley MacLaine...

Spaceymc's analysis is correct.  The film is "Dinner at Eight".

What do I win for stumping the group?
