I am not very good at starting topics and this one may draw more fire then good response but it seems to consistently cause issues and never gets discussed. The problems that the Significant Other of a Proivder causes, or can cause, for hobbyist and providers alike. In the past few years I have seen more agony, hurt, deception, and problems by the unseen S.O. then all the other topics such as clients falling in love with providers, providers falling in love with clients, high prices, LE,etc. that we tend to discuss over and over again. And yet nobody ever broaches this subject. Is it taboo to discuss? Or possibly am I the only one that continues to see good providers and their clients get blindsided by the invisible hand of the S.O.?Last week I saw a thread on a board where a hobbyist was put-off because a lady that was a favorite of his told him she was married. Myself, I would prefer to be told for a multitude of reasons. More importantly I was hoping the issue would get explored, but no one really chimed in with much advice or experience.( BTW a S.O does not need to be a spouse. A boyfriend or girlfriend that is significant qualifies just as well.)Looking back I can think of quite a few incidents where ladies who were excellent and seemed to enjoy their profession had a hard time maintaining that same level of quality once they found a partner. I have also seen clients both publicly get blasted or privately get caught off guard becuase of something that happened behind the scences. Before anybody responds with the easy "This is a business and it should not be an issue" answer- you are right in a perfect world. Problem is this is not a perfect world and it never is going to be one. I see it as an issue, most notably if you tend to see the same lady/ladies over an extended period of time, and probably one that is not going to go away. I could list examples and turn this already long post into a novel but I think I have said enough, and not written anything that is too specific. Hopefully it will draw some thought and maybe some good advice.
