... and Boston is a happy place.  There is still a remote possability for a Chicago / Boston Series.  I don't know about the rest of you, but as a long-time Boston resident, I would get little done.

Going to be the most embarrising series the redsex have played the YANKEES are going to pulverize the redsox

Remember The red sox played the a"s which dont really have much playoff experience. Now they are going to Play the Yankees who have more play off experience than all major league  teams combined

I do not think that it is going to be a blowout by any means.  The Yankees and the Red Sox have pretty much split their 19 games this year (10 for the Yankees, 9 for the Red Sox).

The Red Sox this season have broken pretty much every hitting record in the books.  Their starting pitching is pretty good, and the bullpen is not bad at all.  If they can get the power hitters going, it might just be a pretty good series for Red Sox Fans.

i disagree with you now the pressure is going to be on and the redsox are not good under pressure especially knowing they need this series to go to the big game
the yankees have played in many playoff games and wone over 26 world series and they came back 3 in a row to beat minnesota
also the redsox are going to be in yankee stadiunm for 3 games they will not take 3 games maybe one if they are lucky

well just have to see

...  which keeps me from seeing Mistress (insert name here).  Who knows - there is at least another week to hope...Harry

I think the play-offs have been great so far..particularly the Sox/A's games.  And if the Red Sox DO happen to get to the WS, I think those with a sense of baseball history will agree that it's only fitting that they would have to defeat the Yankees to make it.

If the Yankees win, it's not going to be because of experience..that makes for good copy, but it's over-rated.  The A's had more experience than Boston..& the Diamondbacks were certainly on the short end of the experience stick when they defeated the Yankees the last time NY made it to the series--& the Angeles last year had no experience.  If the Yankees win (& they should be favored) it will be because of:  a) having a rested 4-deep starting rotation while Boston has only 2 reliable starters & they won't be ready by game one  b) Mariano Rivera instead of Boston's closer-du-jour  c) Joe Torre is the better manager  d) the home field advantage  e) a slightly better defensive team  f) possibly the extent to which Johnny Damon is recovered from the collision last night.

Neither the Cubs or Marlins should be there according to the 'experts' but I think the edge has to go to the Cubs.  Prior & Wood are studs that I don't think the Marlins can match & home field advantage at Wrigley should mean something.

Strickly as a fan, but not one whose favorite team is involved, I'd like nothing more than to see a Cubs/Sox series...a chance to see the long suffering fans of at least one team get rid of the monkey.  And I'd love seeing the games played in those two kinda unique ballparks.

I figure we are odds-on to have at least one team in the series.  I think the chances of (my) dream matchup is about 1 in 6.  (cubs even odds, sox 1 in 3).  I don't know what the betting lines are.  The odds for the cubs go down some given their loss last night

I don't know the Las Vegas betting lines either, but I'd suspect that going in they were about even on Cubs/Marlins...However, I'd think about 1 in 4 on the Red Sox would be more realistic as they can't have their rotation lined up as the Yankees do.

The Cubs' loss last night makes the cheese a little more binding for them, but Zambrano was IMO the weakest link in their rotation.  If either Prior or Woods get taken down Chicago will be up against it.  The Marlins are a better team than most casual fans realize.

I'm still pulling for a Cubs/Sox WS regardless.  If that comes about, & if Boston is also able to have time to set their rotation it'd be hard to pick a betting favorite.
