Americans are hell bent on feeling guilty for their natural sexual desires. Not only are we programmed to feel guilty for our own hidden lusts and desires but they want us to feel both guilty and outraged with other peoples sexual choices.
Case in point, The "Victim" women who engage in sex for hire and "Villain" men who pay us.
It's easier for the masses to believe none of us really like being escorts and that we were all thrust into the "life" by various ugly childhood circumstances. It is easier for the law to sell the idea of keeping it illegal, if there is a victim involved. When the people start echoing rhetoric like, this is a victimless crime what the hell are we doing here, again?"
The people, who benefit from said laws, must recreate a victim. No victim no crime. What about the people’s right to pursue happiness? What about the right to quite enjoyment of ones property. Are not our bodies our property? Or is it all really voluntary servitude and we must do as the Massa, or masses say.
Right now the only way the man can justify these senseless and archaic laws is to "remember the victim" Working ladies are portrayed as poor little, mistreated discards, societies forgotten little girls who have fallen through the cracks.

Every now and then when someone big gets busted, society reasks it's self, what's it all for? Why are we wrecking entire lives of people who just want a little TLC.
Why do we drag their families though the mud and wipe away every great and wonderful contribution they have made to society?
So when society begins to wake up, and gets enough of allocating funds to drag fellow community members through the mud on a senseless witch hunt, the Propaganda machine revs up its self righteous presses and remembers the victim.

Then 911 and then BUSH and then WAR and then and then and then. Yes I am a victim a victim of the economy, not a bad childhood or drugs. I have even more bills now then I had before I became an escort. I am a victim of greed. I used to be paid fair commissions for bringing in new clients and keeping relationships happy with existing clients. I used to be appreciated by corporate America.
Then the American corporations and the government got greedy and started siphoning up the money from the middle and bringing it to the top. My clients had to pay more and their clients had to pay more and my commissions were "restructured" as a motivational tool to get new business.
Suddenly all of us had to readjust. Scrambling do what ever we could to keep a few of the gains we had made along the way.
As far as I see it, I am still doing what I have always done, find the clients, fill the need and service the account only now I get to have way more fun and plant a lot more flowers!

Oh how I wish this were true. Unfortunately, only a relatively small percentage of society thinks this way, mostly those of us involved - providers and hobbyists - and those few open minded gentlefolk who believe in the live and let live philosophy of life.
The rest are too busy inadvertently burning their own bibles with the rest of their books in a fit of religious fervor.
we live in a puritanically based society. Women still have to ride the uneasy line between slut and nice girl and deal with the consequences. Society doesn't want a pack of well adjusted providers who'd rather make their money doing this than working at the burger king.
What they want is women who are apologetic- a pimp forced me, I was sold into slavery, whatever... They want to believe that women are still the bastions of our puritanically rooted culture and some sort of a moral compass. I mean, there are people out there that still believe our president is to be our moral compass as well (I choked for a while when I heard that one come out of my grandparents' mouth.)
We live outside of society's norms... we are a little freer than they'd like, a little more educated and less fucked up and we don't fit the model, but they will still try to put a square peg in a round hole. I don't expect it to change anytime soon.
Women have had to fight for their rights to own property, vote and get an abortion.
This appears to be about the last bastion. If it is to change it will be due to the efforts of women.... not men.
The media and virtually all of advertising is geared toward women. They would not risk offending "civilian" women by ever saying anything positive about this.
Therefore, your target is not LE, Congress or other legislative bodies. It is other women. The ones you compete with and generally out-perform. (Thank God!)

I think Katie is right in saying we're less fucked up. Somewhere along the line most of us treat this like a day at the Spa. We pay to be pampered and spoiled. you forget about creative editing, which probably occurred on the Dianne Sawyer's special. All the sound reasoning that these three ladies would bring to light, would most probably be scrambled and distorted by creative editing.
