I actually found the show rather insulting, and I agree that I doubt it is representive of anything but a very narrow percentage of providers.

Anybody seen this series on Showtime? Supposedly based on a Diary/book by Belle De Jour??

I just watched Season 4 ... missed the first 3 seasons since it never caught my eye before but I found it very intriguing...

Obviously made for Cable TV but does anybody know this Provider and is there any semi-half truth about it? (Did a search on TER and could not find any reviews on her.)

Damn... makes me want to take a trip to London and book this lady up... LOL!

This show influenced her decision to get into the biz.  SOooooo, with that in mind I rank Diary of a Call Girl as my all time favorite TV show.

Yeah... That's what I'm wondering .... How Many Providers have seen this show and got into the business because of it?

How many providers take notes on it when it comes to service and being the best of the best? Stepping it up to the next level?

That's some hot shit going on there... the Show should be Provider 101 in my opinion....

but then i lost interest, like most television series it became gradually more and more outlandish as time went on. however while at one time i found it to be an entertaining program, at no point did i relate to it in any way as a provider. my motivations/behaviors/philosophy regarding this "hobby" could not be more different than Belle's. perhaps the show semi-accurately portrays one very specific type of provider, but it is certainly no roadmap or representation of us all, nor of what we should be.

Yes, the show is based on the true adventures of a London call girl (but is undoubtedly embellished).  The lady retired in 2004, finished her doctorate, became a health scientist, and came out of the closet about her identity in 2009.  On the internet there are reviews (undoubtedly embellished) of her. Unfortunately, I have never met the lady in person, but I have exchanged brief emails.

I keep hearing good things about the book. I certainty need to get it! I found out about this show shortly after becoming a provider and found it quite intriguing. It definitely doesn't represent all women in this industry being that this industry is so diverse but it's entertaining none the less.

when I was starting out and it gave me some laughs and a few pointers. But, I haven't watch the series. Can't see anything in the book worthy of a series, but then she may have written more for the series.

By the way, she outed herself about a year ago to keep the press from doing it to her.
