Let me rephrase that...can we stop creating new threads to bitch about the new site?  In fairness, I think it's a pig's abortion, but my conversations on the topic with Admin have been fruitful.  They are aware that it's a flying turd and are trying to polish it as we speak.

Bitch away if it helps, and certainly point out specifics, but please do so on existing threads.

It isn't like each thread and each post is something that you have to do a lot of work on. Unless someone breaks the rules (which, given the responses, seems to be less likely on the "I HATE THE NEW TER FORMAT" threads than almost any others around here anymore), all you have to do is police.  You don't have to reply to them.

In the meantime, you have quite a few paying members of this site who weren't remotely consulted about how they preferred the site to be presented for their use who are expressing their valid displeasure over something that has basically been presented like it will rammed down our throats with a "tough titty" chaser.

All the bitching MIGHT make some changes actually come about...and without it, with one nice neat little thread that you don't have to police, it would have just been swept under the carpet and we could all go fuck ourselves.

So...I think it is FUCKING AWESOME that people are complaining about the format on a site that many of they PAY to use, and if people want to start new threads and bitch about it in a civil way, why should you care?

Sometimes anarchy is a good thing. It at least shows that people are capable of caring about something, to the point of raising hell.
With SO many absolutely STUPID and REPETITIVE topics we are forced to deal with...it's about time that there's some kind of unity in how the users of the boards want the environment to be. Yes, it does "belong" to someone else...but that someone else wants us to PAY to be here.

Personally....I think this ALL would have gone down differently if there was any kind of attention paid to suggestions on the beta version. It was extremely blatant when they put it out there, ask for suggestions, ignore everything, and still try to shove this turd down our throat. I'd rather someone be up front about not giving a shit what their board members think....than try to jerk us off and pretend to be concerned, then just continue on.

Whoever is running this little project certainly knows absolutely NOTHING about web design and functionality. I hope to Christ they aren't getting paid. If it was being done by a bunch of web design students for free...it might, maybe, make a little more sense.

No. Not until they fix it so it runs on my Droid, they promise to keep classic TER up or I leave TER behind. I hate the new TER and don't want it forced on me. So I will continue to dump on it

But sense that's how there playing it I'll fill the void with complaints.

I don't give a flying fuck if everyone hates the new site.  You can't possibly think less of it than I do.  On top of dealing with how difficult it is to follow a topic, I need to decide if the post makes sense on the topic (that I can't follow) and am currently using the old site for 99% of what I do, and then going through all of it again on the new site.  Moderating is way more difficult that just using it.

HOWEVER, all that aside, my conversations with Admin have been constructive and fruitful.  They are trying to follow the complaints and correct what they can.  The moderators have been asked to put together the most common issues so that they get top priority.  That is made more difficult when posts are splattered all over the page, instead of in one or two threads.

So, to make my life bearable, post complaints anywhere you want, but if it's in a new thread, I'm going to pull it.

Obviously the new site isn't what most people want, but it's time to get over it and accept change. Change is inevitable in all walks of life, why not expect it to be so here?

And in the meantime, just understand that there are some glitches that will get worked out and use the classic version until then.

Personally, I am happy to see that in just a few days time, admin has implemented a few different features (e.g. view all) to make things easier for us. This shows that they are actually listening which is pretty awesome if you ask me.

So instead of bitching, look at the good things about the site.

-There is a tree version, which yes it takes one additional click to get to, but it's there. And most sites with this format do NOT have the tree version at all.
-The review search is enhanced.
-There's a view all button giving you two options on how to view the site, which is accommodating to say the least.
-There's a nice new look which is not far off from the last look. Both sites are white; the new one just adds a little blue to it and is centered vs. off to the left. And for those who complain about too much additional space, it’s the same white space. I measured it. The new site has white space on both sides of board and old site just had it to the right.
-Besides that the rest of the features are pretty much the same as the last site.

Just hang in there and breathe. It will be ok everyone…and yes, please no new threads on the topic. Geesh!

Is reading comprehension a major problem for you?  All I'm saying is that I agree that the site is messed up, and that we don't need new threads to repeat the same claims.

My discussion regarding whether I stay as moderator have and will continue to be had with Admin.  We see eye to eye, and spoke just this morning, not that it's any of your business.

and with much fanfare nothing has changed. Just think if everyone stayed limp and gave little notice to the change. Hell, there would be a lot less horney men tuning in for their morning fix. It takes multiple debates and open distaste to move things in the right direction. Since the topic of the week and maybe the month is very relevant to the hobby  "TER" and what it offers to it's members the topic should be open for discussion.

Phil has a point about so many post when I believe just putting a comment on any one of them will bring it to the top. How many unhappy people posted here. If you repost on your comment it will be swimming it's way to the head of the class ready for more debate. This is one of the problems with this type of format...One post could live a lifetime till it is closed, opening itself to your viewing pleasure each time you visit your favorite board. Take the over 60 posts from unhappy people and repost to the top and we have nothing but that for the first three pages.

If your a VIP member you paid your rent just as I did. A lot of expence went into changing TER and our tax dollars helped. Sorry, but our vote doesn't count but giving constructive criticism might.

As mods we have not only the right, but some might argue, we have the obligation to reject posts on the grounds "subject has an active thread". It's the reason we have threads instead of a bunch of disjointed posts.

Not one is asking the membership to simply accept the changes quietly, I believe I have been not only one of the first, but probably one of the loudest critics of the "new" site, but you still have to make your views known in accordance with TER rules.

Simply put, these are the fucking rules, if you would like to violate them, your posts will be pulled and your ass moderated, Any questions???

Just remember LP really is the nice mod, get on my bad side and the only posts you make that will ever see the light of day are the ones that make you look stupid, just like this one. Just remember we can see behind the alias and already know how little you would be missed. Now you go  cry me a fucking river.

One additional word to everyone else, we have no objections to you letting the PTB know how you feel, I strongly urge you to do so, but we can't have a dozen different threads on the same subject, no matter how much LP and I might happen to agree with them. Please be as vocal as you like, just keep it confined to a single thread per page. Now go tell admin and everybody else exactly what a "pigs abortion" the new format really is. lmao

If you look at the threads...specifically a photo thread like the one I started yesterday on the florida board...as of this am you have 2 view choices...tree or flat...I LOVE that...now I can open them all up and see ALL at once..

why should I?  TER doesn't lol.

The boards do not contribute to TERs profitability as such a tiny minority of members even use them. And the board seem devoid of the useful discussions of times past.
 
What I care about is that the review system and "my TER" are harder to navigate, use and make sense of. When you start interfering with the sites ability to get me laid happily and expeditiously, *then* I'm pissed!  

after I post review # 100 in a few days, I am moving my focus primarily to another board which I find to be more useful anyway.  Sure I'll still post reviews here just to keep my free VIP going. But I do have over two years saved up lol...

Someone would acknowledge the complaints. (I’m not talking about the post that just says IT SUCKS and the like)

There are many substantive complaints/suggestions, and if admin would respond to those with a reply that they acknowledge the issue and will consider change or change is in the works.

Also a few weeks ago it was posted that new stuff (I paraphrase) is on the way, then suddenly we sign on and there it is, no notice that on a particular date the new site will be on line.

Perhaps also if there was an explanation of all the changes, and  additions, reasons for each change and addition we will better understand and maybe even BITCH less.

Dude the mods are not the problem. They did not make the new TER, they did not implement it, and they do not even like it. They are just doing there job. They are trying to get the new TER fixed. If they asked us to stick to one or two threads so they can more easily list what needs fix and avoid the topic from over running the board, is that to much to ask? It not like they told us to shut up about it. In fact I hear the opposite from them. They just want it all in one place. So don't be stupid if you can help it it will not fix anything. And eat a 9mm? That is just plan stupid and uncool. The mods are not the enemy but I guess you must have brain to figure that out, which judging from your posts you lack. It of interest to compare the 'classic' and 'new' TER postings on a relatively inactive regional board (e.g., San Diego) that consists largely of escort advertisements. The two boards look virtually identical, which is not surprising because of the very few replies each new posting generates.

As the Discussion traffic becomes reduced due to lack of interest, I would predict that the 'classic' and 'new' boards will become equivalent (i.e., degenerate).

My original reaction was to the negative impact the format had on something rather important to me, and many others...the discussion boards.  But then I began to read all the complaints concening technical deficiencies....Pretty overwhelming.  I am so glad to see your report that Admin is listening.  Thanks .

Now that there's the tree or flat version, I'm not having anymore problems with it.. it was a little difficult to follow a discussion how it was before in the tree version... but now it's fine

Would be to have an official "new TER gripe list", where someone can detail out what they don't like and provide constructive criticism and a possible fix.  Replies like "it sucks" can be deleted for lack of constructive criticism.  You can lump all previous issues into that one thread and delete past posts.  That way, EVERYTHING is in one post.  If you can make a post "sticky" so it sticks to the top, I'd recommend that as well.

The moderators on this board deserve respect like any other.  Let's try to help them make their jobs less difficult.

this site has some new good features but all i all it sucks and I am going BLIND trying to read it.
