What's the point?

I don't get this...  Two reviews on Kira in LA, one new, one old, both rating her a rip off.  And all the details are hidden in the members only section.  What's the point of that?  Yeah yeah, I could be a member, but I'm only an occasional hobbyist and I'm generally content with the summaries.  Shouldn't the rip off reviews give all the gory details to help some other poor dumb bastard from making the same mistake with a different provider and the same MO?

Just a thought.

You want the details?  Pay for it.

At least you know she's a rip-off.  To use your own words, I submit the following:
1. your "generally content" isn't cutting it now.
2. Let's also do some basic economic analysis - a $50 investment for 3 mos. of TER details would assist "some other poor dumb bastard from making the same mistake with a different provider with the same MO" (your words here).  Sounds like a good investment to me -(spend $50, maybe save yourself $$$ one time, plus there is no better entertainment reading than the fictional essays here at TER).

Not unless he is a member, let the Poor Dumb Bastard make his own mistakes.

...details of a rip-off session are no more or less valuable than the details of a "once in a lifetime" session.  Details of both are reserved for the members--and should remain so.

Maybe we could start a fund for all the Poor Dumb Bastards out there who can't afford their own TER membership, we could ask local business for donations, it would be like sending an underprivileged kid to summer camp we might run ads in the LA Times looking for Poor Dumb Bastards who might benefit from our  philanthropy, we could start out small helping local Poor Dumb Bastards, then in a few years, do we dare to dream, we could go national and help all the Poor Dumb Bastards, but then we would probably have to teach them to read, you know I don't think this is such a good idea, so everything I just said, you can forget. ROTFLMAO

If you can't afford to be a member, how can you afford the hobby?  As a fairly regular hobbyist, I have to say that TER membership is money well spent!  Besides helping to find the truly exceptional providers, its just great entertainment.

The one session that no one really needs much in the juicy details section is a rip off.  There are no juicy details to tell.  Isn't it enough to know that she is a ripoff.  Is there anything someone could put in the details section of a rip off review that would make you want to see her and be ripped off.  I assume you must be joking because I can't take your post seriously.  Any poor dumb bastard that is not deterred from seeing a lady with numerous rip off reviews even without any juicy details is not dumb he must be brain dead.

I don't see the point of these "you should only see the juicy details if you pay" responses, but I also don't see the point of the question.

1. Knowing somebody is a ripoff *is* enough.

2. There really aren't any juicy details for a ripoff, are there?  You should already be seeing most of what there is to know.

3. Why would somebody *have* anything in a ripoff review in the "juicy details" section?

From my perspective, I'd rather penalize the ripoff provider than a cheapskate.  But then again, if the cheapskate is dumb enough to ignore a multiple number of ripoff ratings simply because they didn't see the "juicy details", I don't feel sorry for them.

Whatever...

ChubbyB,

Thanks, you made my point a bit more clearly.  Your #3 was the real intent of my original post.

..........for cheap "poor dumb bastards" like you.  If you indulge at all in this hobby, and want to reap the benefits of an organization like TER, then become part of the family. If you can afford a provider's donation you can certainly afford this investment, or make regular posts to increase your membership.  I've done both, and actually resent lurkers like you being pissed off that you can't get everything that my fellow members are entitled to.  The reason that my experiences with providers has been so good is because of the TER family.  If anything, TER gives you lurking guys too damn much!  My 2 cents.

I guess I done been told.  Sorry I opened my trap.  I've been a VIP member in the past.  I've posted.  I'm in remission at the moment, haven't seen a provider in nearly a year, yet still check out discussion and reviews.  There's currently no ROI for me on membership, so I'm not spending the $.  I guess I'll be content that one poster (almost) got MY actual point, that there really can't be 'juicy details' in a rip off review...

Back to lurking, it's been fun fellas.

In no way can I imagine ever subsidizing a luxury for anyone at any time.  If you want to engage in this hobby, you must pay your fair share -- defined as what the market says it will bear.  If you don't want to pay, I have no problem with that, you just shouldn't get the information -- I just can't imagine why you should benefit without helping TER financially.
