what does a credit report show?

This might be the wrong board to ask this, so please forgive. Getting a loan and wife has put in a request for a copy of our credit report. I am not worried about the balance it will show on my personal credit card, but I am worried what info about the account it will show, mainly will the report show that I get cash advances from time to time? Any help will be appreciated.

Depends which credit bureau you are pulling the report from. They all show things a little differently, but individual transactions are not shown.  They will show the different accounts, balances, payment pattern (days to pay, delinquencies), terms, if sent to collections or bankruptcy.  Individual cash advances on revolving credit lines (credit card) will not be shown.

In addition it will list which hand you "choke the chicken" with, whether you have ever had a homosexual thought and if your wife swallows. I know these things sound personal, but wouldn't you want to know these things if it was you who were lending the money?

Cash advance on credit card will not show, nor will individual purchases of anything, unless it was independently financed and even then, it will not show what the purchase was, only to whom the money is owed.
