As I am typing this there are 291 users online.  Something I failed to notice in the past.  Anyone care to share, roughly what the online numbers were before TER went dark in the U.S.

to around 10,000.  During the day, 60,000 was not uncommon.  This is why returning access in the US is the thing that will make the big difference in participation.  Hope its coming soon.  Since US access was blocked in early 2018, I don't recall ANY days when participation was more than around 1000-1200 at peak hours.  I could be wrong because I'm not logged in 24 hours, but I don't think so.

That did NOT mean participating on the boards. Most of those people were reading reviews or lurking. Regardless, it will take a LONG time for this place to recover, if it ever does. Fingers crossed.

The more intelligent people that are posting, the more conversations he engages in.  I'm the same way.  That's why when YOU are the only one posting, we both may be gone for days at a time.  I think that's why you throw up 30 posts at a time hoping SOMEONE will respond to one or two of them.  I try to be a good sport and humor you now and then. If you were one of the intelligent people, you would get more participation from your posts, not only from he and I, but many others, but you're not anywhere close to being one of those.  It is what it is.

Not a terribly negative post and I note you are unable to dispute its accuracy. I've been around the whole time. Where were you? Besides dreaming up a really stupid alias.

TER is a "review site" first and foremost after all.

To get a better idea of how many people are actually posting/lurking on the discussion boards you can simply look at the number of "reads" each OP gets. Using that metric it's pretty obvious that there is rarely more than a dozen or two people participating on the boards at any given moment.

BTW Correction CDL, back in the day the average "users online" count was more like 70,000, with an occasional spike up to 100,000 or more. Of course, back then most users were either lurking or reading reading reviews with only a small fraction of all those thousands of users ever posting, or even lurking on the discussion boards.

And I do agree it will be a long road back for TER to ever reclaim it's glory days, if ever, but the chances today look a LOT better than they did only a few short days ago. People actually have a reason to log in now and with every new review they will have better and better reason to continue to log in.

So it sounds like you are saying that with the IP's blocked, you can't match up members with their IP's unless they log in, or does "users online" include visitors as well?
