The Net definitely has changed things.

I've been noticing an interesting phenomenon of late, and am wondering if anyone else has as well.  For many years now, I've been going to Las Vegas every spring for business, and have always taken advantage of the trip to sample some of the LPIN establishments in the surrounding area.  For a long time, this was basically "the only game in town" -- there were no reliable providers in my area (Washington DC), or at least no easy and safe way to find them.  The great virtue of LPIN establishments was consistency -- you generally won't find GFE, but neither will you be ripped off.  And, of course, no LE problems.

In the last year or two, this has started to change, due largely (I think) to the Internet.  *Lots* of local talent has now appeared, many of them well reviewed, and at a price point that is very competitive with what a typical LPIN house charges.  And, the local ladies are *better*.  *Much* better.  This really struck me today when I started my research for this year's trip -- I finally came to the conclusion that it'd be better to leave my money home and spend it among my small set of "regulars".  Who'd have thought it...

Has anyone else noticed this?  Is it just a phenomenon that's local to DC, or is this part of a wider trend?  Methinks that the Nevada houses are going to have to start doing something about it, either by dropping prices or (preferably) imporving service.

My city used to be horrible, now there are lots of choices with great visitors coming in and out every day.  Why wasn't the net as it is now available when I was a lad?  You are right, stay home and spend you money on the local talent.
