brought their unique personality to the board. No one can post like some of the vets, and no one will because they were unique in their own way. Now, I sometimes this board is nothing but a glorified newbie board. Posts that belong to newbie board, make here and stay here, and sometimes never get pulled despite reporting them.
Yeah sure.. Sometimes things would get out of hand, but that was the fun of posting on HOOKER/ MONGER board. This is not the place to be politically correct...Now we have middle aged men drooling over hookers like a love struck puppy.
I liked the old Wild West better...

Mostly wrong, but never in doubt....
What do you think?
Better?
Worse?
Or the same but without some really great members?
Worse, without some really great members. Worse because instead of moderators who are savvy and know how to keep order without losing the fun factor we have self-appointed mods who report a post to knee-jerk administrators who then pull it.
Without some really great members, because a lot of good people left and their loss is still felt. I used to be able to learn something here. Now? Not so much.
And yet, I still keep showing up now and again, so I guess it can't be too bad! LOL!
a hooker without payment ![]()
To answer the OP (or DC)...it's not the same without members who actually "get it". Too many prima donna's that are so immersed in the PC world, and expect a board like this to be a cocktail (pun intended) party.
As far as the abusive nature of the boards that so many complained about before the change...now you have hookers and faux hookers going at each other in a nasty manner. Wish some of those faux hookers had their entry card to the PO board and take their condescending bullshit over there and let the other old guard hookers rip them a new one. But I get why those "brown envelope" faux hookers can't show who they really are. As well as many others here who now know as well LOL
And of course with mods...it's a slam dunk to have the "where does my dick go" threads every week. So this has in many instances become the newbie board. And then the newbs cry and scream that the remaining members are being mean to them. Pathetic and unnecessary!

I hope Admin is strong enough to keep this thread up and appreciate the feedback.
I think I remember Gambler. But I have no idea who the others are.
If they want, they will for sure.. And there is no fun in asking someone to come back...
"Some" are back ha ha. I miss their original posts under their original handles. but I did not post back then..just watched the shit storms bwahahaha.
But I'm not back.....just occassionaly bored.
You have the info needed to squelch your "pain" lol
Oh I thought we were talking about guys who were here over 2 years ago. Lungman and scoed were both here when I started posting, but I miss them as well.
...multiple aliases.
The board itself has gone through a roller coaster ride. After the purge there was time when admin was pulling every other thread or at least heavily pruning branches, then a switch to letting anything stay up, then back to pruning, then who knows what. I think it's somewhat in the middle now.

The post by inicky nailed it, dead on.
There has always been and apparently always will be..... bitching, fighting, whining, sob stories, newbie questions, same old topics, and outbursts on this board. Any message board on the internet reflects society, which unfortunately is full of people who are....stupid, mean, soft, arrogant, bored, dramatic, sensible, etc.
Boards represent humanity as a whole.
Society needs people who are capable of keeping order. These could be teachers, cops, judges, managers, arbitrators, and sometimes even moderators.
To directly answer your question DC...the board is worse.
It's worse because even though we had all that shit going on...we also had people who had been around this block many times. They had experience. They had wisdom. They were witty...knew when to slap a dummy....but also when to help, offer advice, or direct a conversation.
We don't have that now. Simple as that.
What we DO have...is a bunch of people who either:
1. Were here before the change, were mostly quiet because they knew they couldn't run with the big dogs, and chimed in occasionally. They're the kids who just waited for the teacher to be gone in school...so they could show their ass with the substitute. Then all the regular kids in class would look at them like....who the fuck do you think you are?? Goofy ass who thinks they are somebody when the teacher, who knows you're a dumbass, is gone.
2. Weren't here then...and jump into the fray with a sense of entitlement because they think they're somebody.
There's at least one (it would be rude to name names, right? LOL) whose first post is in August of last year. Yes.....AUGUST. Now, because they're a chronic for this place....think they own it. Been here barely 6 months and already asking people (who have been around for years) "who the fuck" THEY are.
This...is a newbie punk-ass bitch. (my opinion)
Before the "change" when we had lots of members who earned their place...this guy wouldn't have lasted a week without being gently nudged to maybe pay attention (have some humility)....and if he kept on, had his ass handed to him quite skillfully.
The amusing part of the "change"...is to consider why was it made to begin with? Remember?
The story was that the boards were too "harsh". Too much fighting and "ribald language".
The environment was to change to encourage more participation. Right?
Do we have that now? Abso-fucking-lutely not.
It's the same old name calling, cursing, train-wreck, thread-jacking bullshit as always......with the only exception being that the wisest and smartest have left...and no one is in 'control'.
There's no public interaction from "management" like there was when there were mods. Everything is done behind the scenes...and only with the ones who reach out and report a post. Follow up on reporting a post....and usually it's just dead air after that.
"DiscussionBoardAdmin" seems to be concerned only with fun and games on the sports board. There's leadership for ya.
The point is that a change was made with a supposed reason. Ok, fine. That was not followed up on. The tenor of the boards hasn't changed....other than we no longer have our best people chiming in offering wisdom, support, and the brains to at least make arguments witty and fun.
It is what it is....but better? Oh hell no.
Just sayin'
DD
I do miss the days when our most experienced members were the ones saying "bullshit"; as opposed to the last few months when fools with a keyboard (and not much else) insert their 2 cents into every thread.

Legal beagle was good but if mrfisher ever left this place wouldnt be the same.
It's just a board, and people move on or things change.
I don't put too much thought into it, to be honest with you.
This is a board to talk about this activity of ours, no more and no less.
It was never about the "bros" or the "hos." It's just a source of information, and not much more to me.
I continue to think the Mods of the old system had a better understanding of TER and the culture of the Boards. Seems like now any ass wipe hall monitor can submit a prob report and a post is removed. A lot of interesting threads tend to disappear these days.
it's just a hooker/trick discussion board that isn't taken that seriously.
True, but there are certain posters people are actually FRIENDS with outside of the board, so when you don't see your 'friends' around, it is not the same for some. There was another board I used to post on constantly where I had a group of about 150 people who formed our own sub forum there. When I left, the sub forum was closed, and all my friends stopped posting. When I went back, things were just not the same without that group I had come to appreciate, and who cracked me up. I imagine that's all the OP is saying. TER is like the facebook of the hobby.
