The issue of Trades.....

Just curious to know how many gents have made arrangements with ladies for trades of services and curious to hear from the ladies on how often if not they have been approached with such.

I have heard stories of such...not sure what is true or not...but they range from free dental care for her services, to plastic surgery for services, plumbing, electrical, flooring to exchange of goods....such as tickets for a concert, computer equipment, electronics, vacation packages and the like.

Usually, if concerts and the like are there, I usually go with the gentleman that has them or travel with the gent.

Just thought this might be an interesting and fun thread on differing experiences in that regard.

That's been a big topic around our office too, but we here at "Amalgamated Hats, Spats and Organic Fertilizer Co" have had no luck making such arrangements!

I, personally, stay away from that idea. Although I could with my line of work. I even go so far as to not see any client that I may have in this business outside of my office. From what I have seen, neither party is very often satisfied. I think it best to just exchange currency on both sides of the equation. Good Luck!!

I have had a provider accept gift cards from Costco, Sam's Club, Hecht's, Circuit City, etc.,etc. This is a great deal because I am able to run thru my business which gives me the opportunity to see a favorite provider more frequently. We've been trying to get together over the past year, but one thing or another has gotten in the way! I will email you in a few weeks. I love your thoughtful, intelligent posts! This time no will not be in the vocabulary.

Well, trading medical care has huge ethical and licensing issues for the health care provider including sanctions, suspension, and license revocation.  I could see taking care of someone as you would a friend but not with the expectation of services in payment.

I did buy a computer once for a friend because I could get a better deal and ended up getting services in return.  It was ok but I think it only worked because we do a fair amount of business.

I also gave her some tickets once but as a gift with out any expectations.

I learned a long time ago to trade my services for other things simply because I provide a necessary service which not everyone can afford to pay with money.  It let the person feel like they were giving me something of value rather than being a charity case.

However services for sex is a different can of worms and I would strongly discourage that for any one in a profession with any sort of ethical rules.  If you are caught, you will be hit and hit hard

and it has worked fine as I have had long term relationships with the providers.

I did, once. I was seeing a FBSM provider and, during conversation before the session, she mentioned MS-Office on her computer was hosed and, of course, she had a paper due at school soon. Well, being the helpful geek I am, I offered to take a look. It turns out she had a Word "macro virus" that had done several nasty things to her PC. The solution was fairly simple, but it took about an hour of work, and then her PC was as good as new. She was quite pleased and offered half my donation back, but I turned it down.  (Like I said, I'm a helpful geek -- and dumb. :) ) So, toward the end of the FBSM session, I'm enjoying the HJ when suddenly I feel something else. I look up and, yes, she's giving me a BBBJ -- she felt she had to pay me some way. I guess that counts for a trade. :)

She was overextended, when suddenly her computer crashed.  I had access to good quality stuff at good prices, so I got her a new one in exchange for her services.  It worked well in that particular instance.  The provider was trustworthy and turned out to be an ATF of mine.

That said, I would hesitate to do something like that again unless I knew the gal well.

Personally, i see no problem with a trade...Anything between  two people should remain private,,,who cares if a trade was made?
sham...

I know several providers who've bartered for a variety of things, including plumbing work, household remodeling, a computer, and website work.  Barter has been around long before currency and will be around long after currency's gone.

I would say that with a couple of women I have helped them setup/acquire their home networks or other computer equipment.  I did not purchase anything, just helped them get what would benefit them.  Since computers are quite complicated, and can get very difficult to figure out what is needed, and of course we all know how helpful the Compusa salespeople are :) my years of computer knowledge come in handy.

I did not receive anything for free because of my help, but one of them has offered an extra half-hour without me even saying anything (I have not seen her yet though), and another has really become my ATF.  We have a "little more fun" and "do a little more" than the average client does.

I most certainly do not expect free sessions for computer help at all though.
