At first I thought.. Nah, its just someone that looks a little like morgan and has the same bra.. but. the same little thread sticking out the side too...

A little while back, a keen eyed 'long time site browser, first time emailer' contacted me to make me aware that he'd seen my photos being used by another escort. Tips like this are invaluable, as they're usually the only way most of us find out about liars and/or theives stealing our images.

I took a look for myself, and sure enough, Tammi of Phoenix had lifted one of my photos, chopped off my head (ouch!) and claimed it as her own. Now, we can argue the stupidity of doing something so underhanded, while at the same time claiming to be 'real' in your ad copy, but it's no shock that some wanna be (I was going to say 'ho' here, but I'll refrain, only since I like the word 'ho') escorts tend to steal photos. We can even argue over how dumb it is to steal the image of a 40E 165 lb escort, if you plan to claim you're a 36DD and 125 lbs, but that's really not the point.

What's most disturbing to me is the reaction of the site owner. When contacted by myself and asked to please remove her photo, his only response was 'I'll ask her about it.' What's to ask, I ask you? I supplied him with links to the obviously undoctored (undoctored equalling 'head still intact', in this case) original photos, as well as to my website which features fifteen or so more photos in this same series.

My emails to him since then have gone unaswered, and 'Tammi's' site is still up, with my creepily headless image still splashed all over it.

The point of this rant is - what exactly is the responsibility of a site owner, in your opinion? Should he remove images he knows clearly are false, or is it every hobbyist and SP for themselves? Do you lose faith in a site which you know allows such things to occur, unchecked? Is there any point in issuing 'I'm gonna tell yer ISP on you!' type threats, or would I be better off to ask someone to go over and toilet paper his house?

I know it's not a big deal - I've had photos stolen, web text stolen, hell even my entire site lifted and duped. It's the sheer gall of the site owner to not care one way or the other whether his 'advertisers' are real that's pissing me off.

That, and I miss having a head. Look, I can even prove I really do have one:

You should have an attorney notify him. His continued display of your copyrighted image could cost him $250,000 infringement. Money usually has a way of catching their attention.

it would totally be MY responsibility to make sure the photos and content of the website are original and actually belong to the lady I was building the site for. It is HIS responsibility to make sure that the women on his site are who they say they are in order to keep any integrity intact.

I had a lady one time ask for a site. After re-writing much of her text because of bad grammar ect. she sent me new text that sounded eerily familiar. I googled the text and low and behold it was lifted right off a site from a lady on the other side of the country. When I approached my web client about it her responce was "well she will never know, we don't see the same kind of clients..." I was dumbfounded and refused to post the lifted text. Needless to say, the contract didn't go through.

As a site owner/web builder for anyone in this business, you build a reputation, not only based on your work but by word of mouth. If you accept the money and take it all as the gospel, you are mistaken. If I was presented with proof that pictures or text was stolen from another escort, your damn skippy it would be coming off the site and the client and I would be having a little chit chat. I won't have my reputation tarnished because of someone elses deceit.

I feel for ya Morgan. By the way, that picture of you is hot as hell. I have admired your website and posts for a long time. Thank you for bringing this issue to the forefront. Hopefully, in time, those who are not creative enough to come up with their own pictures and text will just pay someone to do it for them. It won't happen across the spectrum, but I'm sure if they are exposed for the frauds that they are, it will make it harder for them and others to play that stupid game.

Ah, stolen text. I've encountered that one so often that I'm almost sang froid about it now. One twit lifted my entire site, as I mentioned, complete with the original meta tags! D'oh! Do you remember that website, 'I Don't Have a Brain in My Head'? It was devoted to outing girls who used stolen text/site style/photos. I wish we still had something like it around...

Also, as I posted on the Phoenix board, I think I should make it clear that I've been really patient in waiting for him to take this image down. I'd hate for anyone to assume that I'd only emailed him yesterday, and was jumping the gun before he'd had a chance to do anything about this.

My first request about this issue was sent to him on November 15th - so it's been a month and change, and still no correction.

Thanks again for all the support - I do know it's not a  big deal, in the long run of things, but it's just really annoying to encounter someone who seems to care so little about the integrity of his site (which, I've just noticed, he charges people for). I've encountered stolen photos of mine being used on Eros, Cityvibe and a few smaller boards, and in each case they were removed almost instantaneously, with their apologies sent, as well.

I had to giggle when you said someone stole your entire site. I had that happen very early on. I found very intricate Celtic Graphics to fit my name and personality. I had even built a detailed "About Me" page that talked about my father being a mrine and how my oldest brother who passed away made an impact on my life and how I dealt with people. This broad copied the entire site, right down to that page nd forgot to replace my name with Hers~!.

It took some time but I go that one squared away but I was amazed. I struggled with people using my name, copying my site ect. the entire time I was in the biz.

I dont know what happened to IDHABIMH but it was a fabulous site. Talk at ya girl....be safe and be good.

That and you clearly give much better HEAD.

I'd say chill and move on - you are quality goods and dont have the time to haggle with the trash.  It is the age we live in - only defense is to innovate better & faster.  My suggestion is to put a page on YOUR site explaining the scam and move on with newer & better pics.

Now back to listening to those MP3s I downloaded...

but, if it bothers you why not watermark your photos in the future? would be thieves will most likely just move on to an easier target.  it's really more about your website designer's responsibility to protect your photos with javascript and watermarks so you don't have issues about this.
