Dear Heather,
I sincerely hope that you will reach out to me given the fact that we are both in the same position with returning to the hobby after an extended hiatus. I know EXACTLY how you feel right now!
Yes, the times they are a-changin', and I, like you, am trying to get brought up to speed with the rapidly-changing Internet.
I never had a website before, I never advertised a phone number.... oh my, so very much has changed when, in the past, we enjoyed a stellar reputation based solely on our name, alone.
Also, learning that former clients have passed is an unimaginable hardship. Mourning the loss in real time for people who were in your "other" world is a huge challenge. I get it, and I can totally relate to you on this, Heather.
Please keep the faith, as I am trying to do, and good things will come to us both.
I'm only an e-mail away (
[email protected]) if you ever need to vent.
You will prevail, Heather! Sending you the warmest of sisterly provider hugs across the miles....
xoxo,
AR

After being away from the scene for a number of years after retiring, I find myself returning. It's been a little more than 6 years that I've been away, and a lot has changed in that time. I missed the hobby, to be honest, and the money is always a great bonus. Having said that, I'm find it's a bit of a learning curve to re-adapt. Phones have become the dominant equipment for web browsing. Some major websites have come and gone. Harder still was to learn that some people in the hobby I knew before have passed away. Have any of you, clients or providers, returned after a long hiatus to find things have drastically changed?
