The first time I came on this board years ago and complained about the term "hobbyist"

I caught a raft of shit, as if "how dare a noob criticize the terminology here."  And I agree that ATF and "once in a lifetime" are stupid words, both being almost a contradiction in terms.  Because in literal terms you can only have one ATF and only give one girl a 10.  They should at least fix the numerical descriptions here.

All of us at some point find one or more ladies which we like to see more than once.
Some of them we may end up seeing several times and they become our “regulars”
Sometimes, we refer to a lady as “my ATF”. I often wondered about the definition.
The name implies singular (one) but over the course of several years in the hobby
you may find more than one all time favorite.

When does a “regular” become an ATF?
What criteria sets her apart from the other providers you've seen?
Is it based mostly on the quality of her performance and looks?
Or is there a more personal reason?  
I’m sure ladies have similar experiences with a favorite client

In a world of whore mongering, where variety is supposed to be the spice of life, where do we come up with the term "all time" favorite? I think a term like "current favorite" would be much more appropriate.

I don't even consider providers that I have had "real" relationships with ATFs. Just like "once in a lifetime" I think the term is so misused as to be meaningless.

It's funny how things change. Just like the "envelope" years ago a caught an even bigger raft of shit for saying that I don't use and envelope, it's silly and it doesn't protect the lady one iota. The manginas and the OTHBFC (Over the hill fat broad club) came out in masse to tell me what a misogynist that made me. The last time the subject came up, most everyone seemed to agree that the envelope was a complete waste of time and actually counterproductive in terms of staying out of jail.

but yeah, we are in complete agreement about some of the rather dubious terms we use here.

I remember that! You pretty much started a riot saying you wouldn't do envelopes lol. How dare you question the system heh heh. That was some funny stuff and you being you just had to keep bringing it up :D

I never have cared if it was in an envelope or not. There are bigger things to worry about and I am just there to have a good time, not let an envelope ruin the moment.

Stating I won't use an envelope on the board today wouldn't even raise an eyebrow, much less start a riot. and you are right, I was on a roll and there was no way I was going to let it go. I was having to much fun pointing out the stupidity of the whole thing.

I don't think the envelope has a damn thing to do with protecting the lady.  There's money in it, for shit's sake!  And we all know LE will bust you if they want to no matter where the money is.  I think it has more to do with preserving the illusion of GFE.  IOW, it veils the transactional nature of what's going on so the demented "hobbyist" can imagine this gorgeous girl is fucking him because he's such a cool guy.  I know that's why they all fuck me.  That, and because I have a HUGE.........

I just had an argument here a couple weeks ago with a guy who was talking about "my three ATFs." What part of "all time" don't you understand?

The term is misused and overused! I have "preferred" or "favored" ladies and a "current favorite" and "past favorites," but every time I see "ATF" in a post now, I just think about Automatic Transmission Fluid.

I have to agree that "current" favorite is an more descriptive term to use and be accurate with.  

When I've had a particularly good time with a lady, I might think of her as my "best" and therefore an ATF but the reality is she is the best so far or the one I've enjoyed the most...so far. Only one has ever knocked my socks off enough to be called an ATF but the real truth is she is simply so good that she is by far and away my current favorite and the only one I have been back to see more than once.  But as the saying goes, you never know......someone else might come along and knock my socks into the next county.

the term " ATF ' is certainly overused..i have several favorites..ladies who i would see at the drop of a hat..when you want to see that particular lady at the expense of everything else..then they qualify as a " favorite"..

...I like much less use. I do use the term favorite. I did use ATF as a term when I started seeing escorts & posting here. Fitting in. But stopped as it really didn't appeal to me and really doesn't really fit.

She becomes my favorite when I see her several times and want to continue seeing her. Conversation, personality, skills, and sense keep me coming back.

The "ATF" is the hobby equivalent of "GF".  She's not your girlfriend, she's not your wife, but she's the woman that you think about when you jerk off in the shower, and she's the woman that you most want to have sex with.  

So, there's this woman that you see all the time, that you enjoy being with, that you love having sex with, that you would maybe have as your GF if you could...that's your ATF.  But "all time" isn't the right term.  But does anyone have a better term?

I have an ATF.  One.  Yes, she is my "all time" favorite, and she became that about 5 years ago, but that was after 30+ years of sampling the options, finding good ones & bad, and realizing that this one stood out head and shoulders above the rest--for me.  At that point I had known her for about 8 years on the clock and off, in good times and bad for both of us.  Long after she retires (she is deep UTR now) we will remain friends.  I feel safe that her place in my pantheon of wonderful ladies is quite safe.

I can believe some guys have real All Time Favorites.  I also agree with you and others on here that the term is grossly over used.  To have 3 ATFs, or to meet a lady at 8 PM and call her an ATF by 8:15 is a bit of hyperbole
