Opens the door, but does not get you OTC time unless you're throwing money at her like a drunken sailor.  DATY skills often prompts a girl to offer OTC time, either by going significantly overtime during a session or as a separate date.  Some will, some won't. It depends on your skill level and how much she likes DATY.

Thanks, Brie.

If so, you risk contracting HPV which may lead to mouth or throat cancer.

Each one of us has our own level of risk tolerance, some higher than others. I know people who died in car accidents but that doesn't keep me from driving.

About DFK and DATY because you remarked, "This sure makes me want to start using condoms!!!"

My point to you was - People can't worry about everything in life, or they'd never have fun.

HPV is transmitted by skin-to-skin contact. Because HPV can infect areas that are not covered by the condom (like a man's balls) condoms will NOT fully protect you against contracting HPV, but condoms do help in HPV prevention.

1/4 of the men tested have HPV.  These come and go so at one time or another it could be half of all men or some other number. This also occurs in women of course and comes and goes.
I am absolutely in favor of vaccinating young people and maybe even people of all ages BUT before we panic, let us consider the relatively rarity of these cancers. This should suggest the the danger of being exposed may not be as great as we tend to think.
In some studies, the majority of Americans who have hypertension do not have it controlled, 1/4 of American smoke, etc.  These are very dangerous things.
I am not belittling any risk, but these studies make it sound like every time one has skin to skin contact with someone he/she is spinning a big oral/throat cancer wheel without understanding if spinning that wheel gives you a 10% chance of getting this very unpleasant and at times deadly cancer or a 1% or a .0001%. chance.

Have you ever had cancer or know someone that has?  If you did, you might have the same attitude that I do.  I've seen too many people in hospital beds and too many deaths.  Any risk for me is too great.

Giving up sex because your neighbor has too many children. I'm not giving up DATY for anyone. It's why ladies want me to come back. Lol

And I always thought it was because of the envelope.

I've watched many people succumb to cancer.  But I still smoke.  Also, Dr. Joe is a doctor in real life.  If he doesn't see a high rate of the cancers the article is referring to, then, as he says, they are quite rare.  Living in fear is no way to live a productive life.

We all know of that 90`s  very popular male Hollywood actor who told one the London tabloids that he got his throat cancer from eating pussy! We all laughed at him. After reading all these posts, guess what, he could be right. For me getting this vaccine is a total no brainer"
Back in 1977 a leading upscale university in the Northeast Corridor came very to shutting down its entire campus because of an epidemic of venereal warts. Had a good buddy enrolled there who clued me in.

Perhaps you can't see the forest for the trees. If you want to be a Chicken Little, that's your right, and it's our right to put the real risk into proper perspective.

If "any risk" is too much for you, might I suggest you start wearing a full body condom, stay indoors forever and stop eating and drinking ANYTHING as virtually anything you consume has at least "some risk" no matter how slight. and while you're at it, I suppose you need to quit breathing as well, because the very air we breathe has at least some risk to it as well.

IOW lighten up Francis, we are all grown ups here, and we all know this is not a risk free activity, but I am a hundred times more likely to get skin cancer from playing too much golf than I am getting oral/throat cancer from fucking hookers.

Professionals and clients should use condoms during paid sessions or time. Not free.

Condoms do NOT prevent HPV

Doctor appointment next week and I WILL get HPV Gardasil vacine. Why would I NOT do this? End of story.

why are they accused of being an 'alarmist'?

Just because you know something, doesn't mean everyone knows. Alot of people are clueless about what extent STI can affect a person. Maybe it will reach that extent with you, maybe it won't, but it doesn't hurt to be knowledgeable.

Having knowledge leads to being educated and making educated decisions. It has the ability to be good for all of us. If you are educated then you can assess the risk and decide what you are going do about it. There is nothing wrong with that.

Sometimes when I read these kind of responses on the internet, it makes me think about ancient times when only those who could read had the power and made decisions for the peasants, and lied to them, because the poor peasants could not read and therefore assumed the power did indeed belong with those who could. And back then the peasants were disposable.

Chicken Little wanted to justify her reasons for offering "covered services only" and to get the rest of us on that particular bandwagon by claiming the sky is falling.

Passing along information and intentionally skewing the facts to bolster a preexisting opinion are two different things. She presented her facts in such a skewed manner, some of the rest of us simply set the record straight. NOBODY here even suggested that this is a risk free activity, but several of us did try to point out the risk is nowhere near as high as the OP tried to make us think it is. We called her an alarmist because that is EXACTLY what she is.

The wizard is a mind reader as well.

Sort of silly for us to bother posting anything on here because the wizard knows what we really mean better than we do.

for you to stop posting here no matter what you use for a reason.  If I have trouble sleeping at night, I just start reading your posts.

He doesn't have any greater clue to the motives of others than any of us do.

I contracted throat cancer from DATY with a number of different providers. I have no idea which one it was and will never know. I went through surgery, radiation, and chemo...it was a nightmare but it did save my life. Like most people, I never gave it much thought, assumed the risk was small, and didn't worry about it much. It has been a year since my last radiation treatment and although I'm considered "cured" I'm still not back to 100% and likely never will be. I haven't seen a provider since then but have started to think about it again...not sure I will ever DATY again, I couldn't imagine repeating the ordeal I went through. I'm not suggesting that anyone change doing what they enjoy but thought you might find it interesting to hear from someone who's been there and back.

I'm sorry you went thru all that.
But you never thought to look where you licked?
They are warts after all. Granted some are very small but they're there

Ever heard of an "asymptomatic carrier?"  Most HPV is asymptomatic.  Also, the CDC warns that if you have multiple partners (5 or more), you WILL be carrying HPV.  That means that everyone in the hobby (providers and clients both) are carrying this virus.  But most of us aren't going to get cancer from it.

Dude,

I sold the surgical lasers that removed the warts.
Seen hundreds of patients
They will present at some time. Trust me
The vapor alone from burning off the warts is so toxic that you double gown and mask.

The most common type of cancer caused by HPV is cervical dysplasia leading to cervical cancer.

Condoms don't always protect against HPV since it can appear in areas of the genitals that are not covered by condoms. Thankfully, a vaccine was created not long ago that protects against contracting many common strains of HPV. Even though HPV is generally harmless (just unsightly), as a provider or client, I would definitely recommend getting the vaccine, as well as getting tested for STD's regularly

HPV is NOT harmless to women
It generally moves into cervical dysplasia and often cervical cancer follows that.

False. I majored in med lab technology, so I'm fairly educated in STD's, STI's, ect. Only a few strains of HPV can lead to cervical cancer in women. These are not very common strains, but they are out there. The vaccine (Gardasil) was specifically created to prevents these cancer causing strains, plus a few of the strains that can cause unsightly warts.

Better go back and study again.
I didn't major in it, I operated the lasers that removed the warts.
Have done hundreds of them.

Yikes, rude much? I'm not trying to start a fight or deter individuals from getting vaccinated; I'm just stating the facts. I did a little searching on the web before posting to make sure that I was remembering it correctly from school; I linked one of the articles below if you'd like to browse over it.

Thx for posting it.
As guys we need to look before we lick, so to speak 😷
But women have other concerns when dealing with HPV.

On a side note, love how the author of that article tried to make it a racial thing.
Doesn't matter what race you are if you don't go to a doctor.
