Haggard is another example of how repressing one's sexuality harms the individual at some point. I feel sorry for those folks, raised with a religion that condemns who they are, that try to compensate for their natural urges by becoming self-hating hypocrites reduced to speaking out against their own kind, marrying some poor woman and having kids who will be scarred for life when their secret life comes out.
Repressed my ass. Mark my words, his nonprofit "church" - which he has by the balls - is gonna do an "investigation" - and find he's "mentally ill" and "disturbed", and they (by his signature) will send him off to retire in some Caribbean "asylum", complete with all the local houseboys he could want, where he and his money is outside the reach of US law.
Look at how he's already trying to avoid responsibility by avoiding the issue of the act, and instead saying that he's not liable for his acts because of somebody elses motive.
Who CARES about the whistleblower's motive? What we CARE about is the fact.
I don't care if he's a fag - it's less competition for me. What I care is that he's wasting govt money to chase other fags. Do it on your own dime, buddy, just like all the rest of us.
It's about time for responsibility. Face the music, ya know?
I expect him to check himself any minute to the Mark Foley Center for Outed Queers and claim drug addiction made me do it. After all Mike Jones was his dealer as well as his lover.
Guys I like are Barney Frank and the ex NJ governor. When they got cought they fessed up and moved on.
Gotta love the drama. It's like channel surfing and chancing onto a soap opera - except that you're flipping thru the newspaper and finding out the Prez is taking advice from a drugged out Roy Cohen.
But is that worse than taking advice from Pat Robertson, considering his financial scams?
And whatever makes anybody think the Prez listens to anybody, anyway? I think he's got this little kazoo buried in his ass, and he listens to his fart tunes.
Alright, off to Politics. Like sex and politics could be separated.
These guys condemn everything sexual to get all the bible-thumpers to send them money. They reinforce this anti-sexual BS, and when they get caught, they deny, balme the devil, and finally confess their sins.
Why don't they simply say they were wrong about sex, that, hey, it really doesn't hurt anybody if you think just a little bit with the big head first and we all feel better afterwards? Instead they try to foist an unhealthy, unhappy, mostly outdated morality - one that they obviously don't believe in (or at least follow) - onto believers and non-believers alike. I guess if you get rich and/or elected it's OK.
It's unadulterated hypocricy, and preaching it is vastly more evil than the sex they warn against.
you can't just VOTE the religious right out of politics; you also have to put your money where your mouth is. And it doesn't hurt to mock them into obscurity.
