You're probably right about the look on his face. Is it the end of the world?

I know a couple ladies who are the same if not worse. Fanatical about every detail of the incall. Seems like every time something has been added, moved, or improved. Then they're SO excited and have to show off everything. "So what do you think?"
Really? What we really think is that we don't give a shit. We get that all the time at home. We're not there for the decorations, window treatments or chachkies. We're there for you to be on your best game, and not checking the ceiling fan.
That's why the price of admission is so high.
I don't want my attorney "distracted" when he's getting 250 an hour from me either. He's a paid professional and not a "friend".

"This is a test!" And, in his busy day, just another one more among many. No big deal! ;)

and he needs some smartening up on how to react to women when they show him something of interest to them.

Oh well, a customer's a customer.

When ever someone shows me a new mirror, I look right into it and say:  "Why did you ever buy such an ugly mirror?"

Hopefully it leads to a laugh.

Even if I notice she's rearranged the furnature (again)...  I'm not likely to be studying it until we're both nekkid & getting busy.

I just moved the full-length mirror in my bedroom to a more "useful" spot in my bedroom in order to facilitate better viewing!  Some guys are just pre-occupied with getting their nut off.

So, My friend comes by for a visit. I have not seen him in a few weeks. I am excited to see him. I have a great new mirror in a great new place..  So I ask. " Hey, did ya notice I rearranged the bedroom, Do you like it? I can't wait to use the Mirror..

The look on his face. was something between I don't care and did she really expect me to notice?

The difference between men and women.

Maybe our friendship is not so great after all. As I noticed and made note I should clean the ceiling fan while we were getting busy...

Are you sure that's what he was thinking?

Sometimes we're slow on the uptake.......

Maybe he just got of work and had a MILLION things still spinning around in his mind.

I know that I sometimes need to make a conscientious effort to put the brakes on the "career" head in order to focus on the here & now.

Maybe he just missed your cue?

Reiteration and clarification is parcel to positive communications.

Then again he could be exactly the neanderthal you assume he is?

Hobby or not, some things don't change. On the other hand, just last night I had a friend visit my incall, and after a year and a half I had switched locations/decor/etc since then... all the sudden he noticed that he could see himself fucking me in the full length mirror attached to the wall... I attribute that to "shiny ball syndrome"....;-)

Wow, Phuck, you've got a cheap attorney! (which may be a good thing, or not, depending).  As to the rest, I'd say all the above posts are true!  And that's exactly the problem.  You did a very human thing which is to try putting yourself in the mind of someone who's said something perplexing to figure out why they said it.  That is always a losing proposition because it's just impossible to know, so it's also a waste of time.  Just an observation, but I find women are more prone to do this than men, which is simply another difference between the sexes.  Personally, I love mirrors but just turn the page.

a friend with benefits, or a "paying friend".

If he is a paying friend, then you need to decide if he's paying cash or paying in all the other ways that guys sometimes get tired of doing at home (which is why we pay to see you). If he's a paying friend, then I think you need to re-evaluate your expectations for this "friendship".

If he is a friend with benefits, or an SO, then you need to decide what kind of FWB/SO you want to have. If it is important to you to have someone notice that you re-arranged something, then pick that kind of person. I would suggest you go see Defending the Caveman, if you get a chance. Guys see differently than women, in general. My house has to be getting pretty dirty for me to notice when I first walk in. Especially if I have something on my mind (like a m=naked babe).

There was one time a provider asked me "have you noticed any change with me?".  I remember I answered something; she said "I colored my hairs !" -- "yeah, you are so beautiful either way."

Don't think too much about it when you have the moment of "did I ask a dumb question" -- there will never be a "dumb question".

... I was eagerly awaiting a friend, and when she arrived I showed her how I had modified an SW30+ 30 meter superhet transceiver to use DDS instead of the stock VCO, and furthermore how by integrating an IRF510-based QRO amp biased to run in class C it would consume no power unless keyed; her eyes started to glaze over. Even worse was when I hooked it to a spectrum analyzer and showed how the push-pull configuration of the final output stage inherently suppressed even ordered harmonics even before feeding through the low-pass filter for additional harmonic suppression. By now she was yawning.

But, being a professional, she took matters in hand by kissing the crap right out of me which made it impossible for me to calculate f=1/2*pi(SQRT(LC)) in my head because she was so danged good!

Bottom line ... if I were an interior decorator, I wouldn't be booking a bodacious babe. Sometimes bodacious babes just have to take us guys as we are. I ASSURE you, MY eyes glaze over with People Magazine type chat. LOL

Well I may not have noticed right a way. But once I was asked I would have looked more carefully and made a comment. Truly guys just don't notice sometimes when their mind is somewhere else. When I first read your post I did assume he was there for play (especially as you referred to "getting busy") so your room decor was definitely not the main thing on his mind. However, the "I can't wait to use the mirror..." comment sounds like an invitation to have some fun (hint, hint) and I would have picked up on that immediately and made some kind of a wink, wink, nod, nod comment back.

But yes that situation does point out a difference between men and women. It doesn't make it a stupid girl moment though. We are different for many reasons and most if not all are good ones. I appreciate the differences. vive la variety (sic)

I bet you the guy has to listen to that kind of stupid fucking shit on a daily basis from his wife, and was naive enough to think that when paying hundreds of dollars and hour it was supposed to be "all about him".

Good fucking grief, we are men. We don't give a fuck about mirrors, or furniture, or "window treatments" Next time tell him you decided to grow a landing strip instead of going fully shaved, THAT he might actually care about.

I can't believe that even in P4P some women expect us to play their silly little fucking games or punish us by thinking about cleaning the ceiling fan instead of our needs in the session.

The OP is definitely on my "must miss list" with that type of pissy, petty attitude.

The entire thread is just one more reason why, whether it's in this hobby or not, men and women are from different planets.  But "Vive la Difference!"

How many times do girls on here drill into our heads (no pun intended) that this is purely pay for play? Do not assume we like you, don't think we care about you, etc . . .

Yet girls are surprised when we act like it's pay for play? (Sooo many threads posted by girls complaining about guys treating them like it's only P4P)

The problem, of course, is that no two people are the same. Like the couple of vids posted on previous threads show, one girl rants about how it is only for the money, only for the money, she hates every minute of it. Then another girl says she won't lie to her SO about how much she enjoys her work.

*sigh* we muddle through, trying our best. We take the advice one girl gives only to be burned by it from the next girl . . . (just as true in life as in the hobby)

my 1 1/2 cents.
