Apologies if this has been asked before, tried to search on this topic but didn't find any other threads. This is something I've only just experienced, now three times in a row: I'm at a hotel, connect with a provider over the phone, make arrangements for an outcall to my place, and then she says I'll need to *text* her my location, room #, etc. No exceptions - has to be text, not phone, for that second part, or no appointment.

Well, I use a VoIP service so that's not in the cards for me. So, what's the deal with this new requirement? Is there a rationale behind it? I don't get it. Was never an issue before.

If it's an outcall to you why wouldn't she ask for hotel, room & location?  Where ya gonna do it in the parking lot? Lol  

Once verification & screening is done I always tell the person I meet to send me the location/hotel & room number.  If I'm weary I sometimes call the hotel to your room to make sure you're in it!! Lol. Rarely but sometimes that's required.

Well I get why they need the info, what I'm asking is why they need the info to be texted, rather than given over the phone. I've actually had providers call the room before too (I don't mind that at all!). But of course, that was after I gave them the location verbally.

I just wish they wouldn't be such sticklers about text since I can't text!

I wasn't in the game back then. I have had other providers try to switch to text after the initial call, but they didn't mind if I preferred to stick to phone calls, or in some cases to fall back on email. It's only been in the past month that I've encountered texting as a requirement rather than an option.  

Wondering if it's a new trend or just coincidence..

nothing has to be written down and there is no mistake of hearing the info incorrectly or writing it down incorrectly. Works great for codes to buildings or gates.

Text is the new way of communicating. A lot of time clients will call me and I do nit have a pen and paper handy so they text me the info so I am clear to exactly the location is and room number.

I think the gal wants you to give your phone to authenticate yourself . I’ve had guys give out fake room numbers. Then i try and call back the guy, no dice.  The hotel won’t connect the call. It’s a huge waste of time. And it happens very infrequently but it happens. Good luck ) xoxo ❤️❤️

Some of us older gents appreciate directions by text because we've lost some hearing and wear aids.  I prefer text over talking on the phone for directions and whatnot.  

Is the issue you can't text, or is it you don't want to text?  You can text over VOIP.  

I can think of a couple reasons why she wouldn't want you to phone, for example, may be a millenail type or she has been turned down before because of the way she talks.  Just as some providers insist you call so they can hear your voice and make a judgement call on the way you speak.

And FYI the payphone has been replaced by the cell phone.

With a phone call, others can often hear, especially if the person repeats the room number as they should to make sure they got it right.

 
In this day and age, everyone should have a phone that can do texts.

You can get a basic low minutes cellphone plan plus texts for $15/month from Consumer Cellular.

Texting...which I detest.  I will NOT make appts with somene who texts me out of the blue.  Once I've screened them and we've arranged a date and spoken I'll do SOME texting.  Every ad I have says NO TEXT appointments....please.

We're not that busy that we have to text.  We've just forgotten how to communicate. Or we have to have it right there, right then.   The best example....."Hey" at 4 in the morning.  

I know...you'll call me an old fart and behind the times.  So be it.

I prefer making a connection, the respect engendered and common courtesy.

I wasn't around when there was a 2 call system.  
But I know I do the ladder of what you explained.  
1. For confirmation- though we can have a pleasant short convo, I don't confirm appts on the phone. I will text specifics. A "potential" client can say just about anything to keep you on the phone so they can finish playing with themselves. Having them confirm over text has really helped me narrow out the time wasters.  

2. So I can copy and paste your addy into GPS! I'm a busy person and can't always talk on the phone of have the ability to write and talk. Just text me so I will have EVERYTHING correct for later. Nothing more embarrassing that knocking on the wrong room door because you wrote down the wrong address.

I actually love texting/email and I almost see 100% of escorts that do that. My reason might be a lot different than others, it’s because I’m almost completely deaf. At home I can use a hearing impaired phone, but I have been unable to find a cell phone that works for me.

....but my email is connected to my phone.  
It's possible she doesn't want anyone in the next room (or passing by) hearing her tell someone the room # or giving elevator instructions verbally.  
And probably also wants to avoid some guy yelling "did you say 314?! I'll be right up" back at her.

Due to technology, no one uses the phone they lack vocal communication skills unless it's typed out so get your balls back in in your pants and serious your damn self!!!  😡😡😡
