"I am intrigued at the number of gentlemen who report that they would “defiantly” recommend a given provider. Apparently they recommend lesser performers only “meekly.”

Of course, there is the possibility that the word said gentlemen intend is “definitely.”

Without reading the specific reports you are referring to, there is no way of knowing who is confused.
Perhaps the hobbyist has a favorite his friends refer to as Yugly, but he thinks she is  beautiful.
Would he not defiantly shout she is pretty when he brings up her name, if he thought his friends might oink.
Without facial expression or mannerism code embedded in the print, I can understand how defiantly or definitely could be confused by the reader.
Either way I would assume he thinks she is hot, but what would I know, I'm not a great speller but I'm OK at math.

Call me a nitpicker, obsessive-compulsive, a snob, what-have-you. I do not disagree. Regardless, thank you for indulging me. I feel better now.

a cure all.  and most of us do not send our post to a proof reader for approval.  So yes you are a NP, OC, S, and a WHY.

you are pissing into the wind.  People too ignorant or sloppy to check spelling or re-read a post before sending it prefer to remain in ignorance.

Well, at least they only make themselves look bad when they use incorrect words and bad spelling, right?
