I agree that if I wait more than three or four days between providers, the urgency wanes a little, but when I'm going every day or every other day, it makes me want to go more.  I recently saw two different girls in one day for the first time in about three years.  The first one was young and very thin, so I was still hungry an hour later.  Needed some aged prime before calling it a day.  But it was such a turn on, I saw yet another girl the next day before taking a day off.

I am with fish in the fact that I too eschew (fuck you Conan) masturbation in favor of "the real thing" I suppose if I ever had to go a week or so without betting laid, I would probably take matters into my own hands, but I honestly can't remember the last time I went without pussy for that long.

 
As for the OP's query, I don't really know if "getting more" makes me "want more", I have always been a horn dog, but I am getting older and that has more of an effect on my libido that the amount of sex I actually have. When I was young I was horny every waking moment (and I assume just about every sleeping moment as well), now that I am older I don't feel the same sense of urgency that I once did, but OTOH I rarely have any of those "cold streaks" that I would occasionally run into in my youth, thanks to a well balanced diet of hookers, SB's and the occasional civvie chick, "cold streaks" are a thing of the past.

I think when I was young, the more sexual activity of any kind that I had tended to promote even more.

 
Now that I'm in my 60s, I eschew masturbation in order to save myself for the real thing.

Sex (and masterbation) releases endorphins, pleasure hormones. The more recent the memory of the feeling the more one will desire to create it.  

Very frequent sex is correlated with better health, longer life, and maintaining younger looks.  

For both men and women, though, masterbation which can be more intense feeling, may make reaching an O with regular intercourse more difficult.  

So there could be a real world performance trade off with frequent masterbation and or porn. But the health benefits are still there.

Frequent sex, by the way, means more than twice a week.
