Yes, all encounters are unique and there's no "one size fits all" method to doing things.

Whatever alleged rules exist, God knows I've broken them all. Most hobbyists are  dumb sheep or lemmings.

I think a lot of people here....

have become disconnected from "normal" society due to economics, technology and a general breakdown of family connections.  I have had several conversations with friend that I used to hang out with golfing 2 or 3 times a week and due to economics or our bodies breaking down that is gone.  We all work out of our homes on the computer for the most part then find this strange place.

Certainly this overthinking of things in this forum is because there are a lot of disconnected people out there that can spend time on a fuck board rather than interacting with real people face to face.

I think many people spend more time on TER than actually fucking. It's just another social media site that can be more fun.

It is a transaction, plain and simple.

And many people just overthink and try to find a one-size-fits-all answer.  Not just for protocol, but for everything in life.

Lets just shut TER down then and forget the whole thing!

In case I was too subtle, DC, I am suggesting that your post suggests a single, clear understanding of how things work just as much as all the others you complain about. After all, if someone wants to do it a certain way, and part of that is to be absolutely convinced that their way is the best, maybe only, way to do it, doesn't your all inclusive, all permissive view allow that? Isn't that way just as acceptable as any other?

Yeah, I find it annoying as shit, too, when they come back and whine about how everyone else is so stupid because they want to do it differently. But a simple STFU in response to the whining seems more useful than some overgeneralized grand pronouncement.

In any case, most people tend to believe that the way they like to do things is the right way to do those things, not just in the hobby, but in general. Seems to be human nature. Not sure what you hope to achieve in arguing against that, so I hope your post felt good, at least.
