I find it interesting that she was an elementary school teacher and the girl was 15 when the relationship started.  If the girl was one of her students she couldn't be too bright. She didn't report the relationship until she was 20 and after the teacher told her she was getting married. I think the break up might have been more traumatic than the sex acts.

I don't condone child molestation by any means, but I think there is more here than what is printed in the article.  If it were a clear cut case of what she was charged with she would be going to the state prison, not doing a year in the county jail.

I started at thirteen and was involved with at least two women over 18.  I didn't feel abused at all, I felt very lucky.  I am, of course, opposed to sex with children under all circumstances.  I would love to have married a bisexual woman though.

most kids are sexually active at age 12 now..... the laws were created decades ago when having sex at age 12 was inconceivable.

I would be appalled and ready to fight to the death if this were my minor child. I don't think anyone having sex with a little kid is acceptable and 15 is still a minor. Yes kids are more technically advanced than we were at 15, but I am sorry 15 is still too young to be screwed by a adult. It is more socially acceptable for a woman to molest a young boy than it is for a man to molest a young girl. Had this been a female victim and a male perp this whole post and all the responses would have been much different.
Why is that?
