You should probably have the same policy with your attorney...anything you say in consultation is protected, even if you're guilty as sin.  As for LE, two words...Lawyer time!!

our police put their lives on the line every single day in order to maintain this very thin veneer that we like to call civilization.  Just remember, while they serve - they serve at the direction of the elected politicians who direct which laws they enforce... and which laws are enacted to "protect us" - when was the last time an elected official was out-gunned and then gunned down while apprehending an armed robber - or hostage taker... or killed while trying to rescue an abused spouse in a domestic altercation?  when?

We've gone too far in trashing our public servants... sorry, just can't abide it without saying something.

I don't think that telling one to keep one's mouth shut is a slam at our public servants. Rather, it is a means of self-protection. Sort of like advising one to break the glass in the event of a fire.

However, I don't agree with the current attitude in some areas that says we don't give anyone up, no matter what they have done. Unless we revert to vigilante law, I don't think letting murderers go free is a good policy.

In Kindergarten, I remember parents buying these pretty silver bracelets for their children. On it we had our names and address written in the case that we became seperated from the adult in charge of us and needed to get back home. Much like the dog  tags we put on our pets!--Sitara Devi

There have been instances of Pedophiles reading the childs name and/or their parents' name from the bracelet and using that information to convince the child that they were sent by the family to take them home; then kidnapping them.

Such a sad state of affairs.
