So the words "schools out", don't have exactly the same punch as they used to.

The best part is that I don't have to listen to the school bus go past the house at 7 AM.  When my kids were in school, the sound of that bus going by without stopping and then the sudden cry of "oh shit!" from their mouths meant that I was going to miss breakfast and be late for work again as I drove them to school.

Well, as a retired teacher, summer doesn't

hold the same meaning to me as it once did.  Since I live in Florida, all year long is vacation time for me.  Admittedly, when I was teaching, I looked at summer with great relish many years.  But when summerschool was no longer available to provide me some extra summer income, summer vacation time from school was sometimes a little scary.

School busses don't come down my street and my kids are well past school age also, so I don't have that problem to worry about either.

My fun plans include fishing on my new (to me) pontoon boat, riding my waverunner in Tampa Bay, and of course, seeing as many lovely providers as my social security check will allow me to.

Convincing my boss to send me the triangle area, so I can enjoy your lovely triangle area.

I'm taking a trip to Atlanta for the weekend for some baseball. There will, of course, be some indoor sports involved also, with a lady who has been on my wish list for a very long time. I'll probably plan another baseball trip before summer is over. I just haven't decided where or when yet.

I'm not sure what to do about DC.
I'm afraid because politics and government is so screwed up I should probably see a TS in DC !!!
