They've detained and are deporting all of those who were trafficked warning its just the beginning. It's human trafficking month. I tried to put the info on one of the regional boards here  12 hrs ago but it never went through. They have a graph of targeted areas of  trafficking on King County site.

After reading the article and the comments posted for the article it is saddening to see how many people cannot differentiate prostitution and sex slavery. Perhaps most of these people do not want to understand the difference because it's just easier to invent a simplistic and incorrect view that P4P = exploitation and rape. The other faction I absolutely love to hate are the sanctimonious pricks that label all providers as poor defenseless victims and clients as amoral misogynists. Some idiot even tried to insinuate that existence of sex work is the directly responsible for serial killers targeting prostitutes. Are you fucking serious?!? There is not enough time available to fix this mindset. I can only handle so much idiocy in one day.

in case any of you guys in Seattle didn’t notice the “Best Employers Alliance” crap at the end of this article?

That’s the part where your employer has agreed to agree that: “employees caught soliciting sex could face job-related consequences”?

I’m not sure when our sex lives became our employers business. But, I think the lovely ladies that you guys love so much in Seattle (and c’mon, Seattle is fkn awesome and you know it) would appreciate at least a few of you guys coming out of the shadows, and saying a little something (even anonymously?)  about how you’ve never encountered a “trafficked” sex worker.

Or,….at minimum, give some love to SWOP Seattle.

Just…..sayin’…

...worker?  How would they know that for a fact?  The article said: "...agencies that move women from city to city after they arrived in the U.S. and 'bookers' who book appointments for the women, according to the charges."  That's the same MO that happens with TER K-girls.  I don't know whether they are trafficked or not.  What evidence do you have that they are NOT trafficked

SEX, the hottest subject in the world. So many perverted views on this subject.  Prostitution should be legalized.  Women who are slaves should seek help.  Women who want to give pleasure and are good at it are an asset to Humanity.  We seek this pleasure and some perv wants to deny it, that is unnatural

The K-Dynasty.com site is still up. I am sure the feds are only keeping that up so they can investigate and bust even  more involved. There were tremendous amount of K girls working within a few blocks of one another on the Eastside  for over five years. I wonder who didnt get paid or which insider wanted more...and brought it all down?!

If Seattle wants to ferret-out the problems with marginalized sex workers, the absolute *worst* thing the city can do is slam in a finishing nail with a sledge-hammer. The best allies in this 'fight', to identify and help anyone in trouble, are active sex workers and their clients. Basically, shine some light in the dark corners, open the dialog and welcome anyone reporting abuses (without fear of arrest...retribution, job loss, civll asset forfeiture...etc..).

And, as far as this article?....propaganda from top to bottom.

we support and enjoy p4p. A majority of members of "our" group here do this of our own free will, albeit not that free. But the seedy underbelly of the industry is how it's portrayed and sold to a listening and unaware public.

But it's still illegal, and primarily why escorts screen, besides safety. Does it surprise any of us that the article on Seattle is jaded with some facts, half truths and lies. It reinforces buy in by prudes and the self righeous who want to control individual freedoms, in this case, our sexual preferences and practices.

And as for employers, since when are most concerned for our rights? It wouldn't surprise me if "coverage for STDs is suspended until you turn in everyone you had sex with. The trend to employees surrendering more info for coverage is upon us.

Our individual freedoms are under attack every day. This one also happens to be illegal.

I assume you understand where I stand on the hobby. Hopefully, not coming to a city near you. Or me

Let's try to cover the sun with one finger. Let's put everything under one blanket statement. I feel providing is a victimless crime what is the problem. All of a sudden if you are a sex worker you have been brought to this country by someone else or you have been forced into this or you are crack head. It's ridiculous, this what LE enforcement focus on when there is so much more in the world going on. Go after the provider that WANTS to do this but let's not catch the guy that's importing children into this country and others so they can become sex slaves. It's ludicrous.

It is a shame but it does not matter the topic these days.  The media in general has its own agenda and will report what and how they want.  Not just what sells but what story they want to spin and what agenda they support.  There is no such thing these days as an unbiased media.

In those cases where you know the real/"whole" story and then you see what is reported in the media you are horrified in 99% of the time.

I love how so many of those red, white, and blue Americans trumpet and preach how the US is the land of the free.  The US is so free that you can not even use your own body how see best?  You are so free that you are not able to make money on your best assets?

I realize the US was founded by puritans but this is the fucking 21st century.  Get over yourself and climb down from your fucking high horse.

Is it wrong that I think it is great when fucks like the Duggars are busted and their hypocrisy is made clear to the world?  Hell, I am not expecting a public figure to state that he loves escorts and snorting coke off their ass is the best thing in the world.  However if you are out there condemning providers and people that see them.  All while you are participating in the lifestyle...well you deserve a public flogging.

John Q public does not have to support P4P but how about withholding your judgement and condemnation.  How about respecting that people should be free to make their own choices.  No one is being hurt in the voluntary P4P world.  I am clearly talking about women and men who have made the choice of their own free will.  Human trafficking is a whole different story and should be prosecuted.

I see this story is about brothels.  I will admit that the human trafficking aspect has colored some of my choices.  The agencies that advertise the Asian girls that are just in the country or are traveling around the country give me pause.  I honestly wonder about what the true story is.  Fair on my part?  Maybe not.  However I would rather not have that question in my mind.  There are lots of independent ladies that I can go see without any qualms.

to risk any possibility of contributing to any coercive situations, whether they are or are not called 'human trafficking' or 'sex slavery'.  I personally don't know anything about K-girls or agencies, cannot judge them, but as you imply there just seems to be a more significant risk to my ignorant mind that they might, *might* involve coercion and I will stick to independents.

The goal has never been about sex worker safety or saving victims, it's about punishing people whom the government views as blatantly skirting its rules and then wringing from them all the assets that it can.

The women that you see in the article and the videos are members of the OTHFB club. Hell yes they want prostitution rings busted, then we would have to settle for them.

If it ever happens that my only option is a member of the OTHFB club, I'll just use my right hand for the rest of my life. Fuck that! I'm not settling any more, ever.

I’m not sure when our sex lives became our employers business.

When the government told employers that even though money and benefits have changed hands, it is still their money, and they can determine where that money should go (ie. the decision on medical benefits/birth control)

Now they are stating that they do not want "their money" supporting prostitution, with the employee as the pass-thru.

That bothers me tremendously, but what bothers me even more is that we never get to hear these ladies' side of things.  LE swoops in for the "rescue", has very publicized press statements, and talks a lot of big-talk propaganda, and then quickly begin deportation proceedings.  I am sure they have interpreters.  But we NEVER hear from the ladies?  Why did they seek to come here in the first place? What are they sending them back to?  We never get their side of the story.

With the veracity that they attempted to keep SWOP quiet, and the fact that they completely ignore and dismiss the very real perspectives of independent ladies, and the way that they were issuing statements without having even interviewed any "victims"... it becomes quite evident that the safety of women is NOT on their agenda.  Not in the least.

Actually keeping women safe would not put money in their coffers.

The problem is, they all give the same answer: they can see the sense in decriminalizing sex work and working in tandem with providers and clients to go after the real criminals, BUT...they're afraid of being perceived as laissez-faire crime, and therefore, not getting re-elected.  Where's Jesse Ventura when you need him?!
