After trying several different ways to pay for VIP membership and discovering problems with all of them (I can't use my credit card as my wife pays the bill) I tried using the Trustcash option.  Works great with no paper trail.

Just go to the "buy VIP" page and choose Trustcash,  you will be prompted to open a trustcash account, (only need a email address,  no name) and choose a local bank to pay.  Print the Trustcash receipt and bring it to the bank and pay the amount.  Was slick and quick and when I got home the quarterly VIP was already in effect.

Purchase a Vanilla Visa card. Amounts go up to $500, you can get that at pharmacy stores (CVS, Rite Aid, Target), pay with cash and no paper trail if you throw out the receipt.

Much better option, in my opinion.

I don't see why not. Never tried it with TER.

Last time I used one, I went online and entered "personal information" so that billing info matched when using it online. I didn't enter the correct info, but it worked anyway.

I think what Mr Fisher was referring to is that many of those cards would not work with TER as it is an international purchase. I think it has to do with many traditional cards guarantee to bill you the amount of the charge at the going exchange rate when the funds actually transfer. With the prepaid ones there is no way to bill back to you if the exchange rate takes a jump between when you hit the button and the next business day when the exchange actually takes place.

correct.

Many forget to take the FX rate element into account.

When getting Vanilla Visas, getting the one in a black package is good for international purchases.

Just check the back of the card and it will say if it is good internationally.
