And then poo-poo the perspective of CLIENTS who are trying to give them advice?
If you really know so much, then please don't come on these boards and ask us for advice. We are doing YOU the favor, honey. If your business plan worked, you wouldn't need to come on the board and ask us what we think.
Do yourselves a favor and listen to what we say. We're not here to berate you. If you are worth seeing, we want to see another face and another option.
But if you think you already know what's going on and you are just looking for affirmation, get a dog. It's a lot more effective.
because they want to hear a certain answer and they are not receiving it.
You know how some people ask a question and when they do not get the answer they want to hear they get defensive.
I think any provider who is new and starting out should try to reach out to other established providers for info, tips,or maybe just a general question about this business.
A new provider can ask questions on the boards if they want gents opinions about their website or about pictures that sort of thing. But,the pertinent info on how to run their business successfully she needs to speak to providers not potential clients. From a client's standpoint he can only say his point of view about this business but you ask a lot of people the answers are going to vary.
Every provider and gent has to start at the bottom and work their way up some are receptive to criticism whether critical or not and some just don't get it.That goes for both the gents and providers.
Just my .02
For example, a provider recently posted in the Newbie board that she traveled from Philly to NYC and was upset that she had cancellations. So she wanted to charge an upfront deposit.
Doesn't matter what you tell her as a provider. As a client, I can tell her that with no reviews, no history, and no track record...we're not gonna bite.
*sigh* TER...
This is very true. Especially when a client gives a perspective that is damaging to business.
Constructive criticism is good. Criticism just to critique is what a lot of people enjoy doing.

I gave you very specific advice, none of which you appeared to have followed. You heard one thing and missed all the details.
I won't get into it on this thread, but I wasn't talking about you specifically. I'm talking about the craziness I see more and more on this board with providers asking for advice but then getting upset and belligerent when the advice they hear from CLIENTS (you know, the ones with the MONEY, the ones who are the demand side of the equation, without whom this business would not exist) is not in line with their business model.
If your business model worked, you wouldn't be on here asking questions. Have a little respect for all the guys who are going out of their way to give you some advice. If you don't like it, don't use it. But coming back on the board and suggesting that we don't know what we are talking about is insanity. You think TER is a useless board and one that is defensive and non-friendly? You can think that, but for every provider like you who takes that attitude and can't get her business off the ground (the one from San Diego that looked like a turkey in a bikini was another one that comes to mind recently), there are a lot of them that have used TER successfully. Why don't you reach out to Ashley Ann Taylor and ask her how much TER has helped her business? She just raised her rates $100/hour to $600/hour, and she is still totally booked. Which tells me that she could probably get $700/hour easily.
If you really want the honest truth, then start asking guys how much money they would be willing to pay for you for an hour or a session, and then you will see what the market can bear.
Hooker column.
Mainly for the same reasons you are posting about ![]()
Now these newbie hookers only want the other hooker broads to tell them what to do.
I thought that was for the PO board?
But TER doesn't allow posts to go up on those threads like we used to have ![]()

and give discounts to hookers if they file taxes with your help. ![]()
And I highly doubt that too many hookers really want a johns advice on how to be a hooker ![]()
As for preparation of taxes and financial consulting for the gals that actually give a shit about their lives...already doing that ![]()
Come now, I didn't poo poo you, I noted that you gave some bad advice.
You also offered this advice freely.
I didn't expect this from you.

You would have simply received an email from me, and that would be that.
I'm talking about the string of recent posts by providers that shows this behavior.
We are the demand side of the equation. No one knows better what the market will bear than us. Because we are the ATM.
Your side is the supply side. You set the entrance fees to the amusement park and tell us what rides are open.
If you are Six Flags, don't you want to figure out what you can charge for having a certain number or types of attractions? How do you do that? Well, you look at other activitites and amusement parks, and start there. And you try to find the people who spend their money over there, and target your marketing to THOSE people, as well as trying to differentiate yourself and getting a new set of clients that is different. Maybe your new clients will pay up for quality because you won't let as many people in and the lines are shorter. Or the rides are more thrilling.
Those are things that the demand side can help you figure out. You and others might wanna listen.
I listened...and was laughed at. :/
I'm not saying your advice doesn't ever help, but in terms of the "demand" side....
It just looks like it isn't always right.

You told me where you advertised or found guys, and you didn't at all do what I told you to do.
But Not on the boards for the most part...
I've seen numerous ladies with less then 10 reviews on TER and plenty of them have asked what they can do better for "advertising" and I'm more then happy to help them out since I'm in Marketing.
Nothing wrong with that...
Just a suggestion for ladies... Ask the guys that see you and don't put it on the public board to where you might be insulted.
In business.... YOU ALWAYS ask your clients what you can do better. Just not on a public board and if you do... YOU certainly DO NOT chastise people giving you honest advice.
Actually a very good topic you bring up crazyshit. I've met more then one or two providers and gave them advice on what they should be doing after meeting them personally and they've turned into rock stars.
Ladies -- Don't ask on a public board. Ask the clients that have seen you...
-- Cheers

Here's the other thing that goes unsaid sometimes.
If a lady wants to get a running start, they should realize that some of us have Rolodexes, as well. And we can turn them onto other peers and clients who can jumpstart their business.
What if the client gives you advice that backfires?
You didn't reach out to specific clients in the manner I told you to.
You went to a board that is full of cheapskates. You didn't go through the TER reviewers in SF.
And you yourself just told me that you hate marketing.
In that case, farm it out to an agency and pay them half.
Great advice Ivchi! I am a new orovider and always looking for ways to improve meeting & increase
My client base. I appreciate your input ![]()
that the worst thing to do is to ask a hobbyist advice about how to run your business (What to charge/services to offer). One guy once told me I had to start out at $250 an hour and offer anal to make money LOL!
But ask a realistic hobbyist who is writing the reviews you wanna be getting for the girls that you truly see as your competition...and I think you will find something totally different.
It makes a lot of sense to ask uour target audience the client how do i attract your companoinship ir make you a regular. They would know better tgan anyone else.
To advice from providers? Especially other providers whose business model isn't working?
to the feedback they might have, but the business decisions are still up to the provider. If you don't like the market, find another one...that's what I did, but I love my TER guys.
I think that a really simple explanation for the string of advice seeking posts is simply that a new girl WANTS to start threads and get her name on the boards in any manner at all. What is a new girl going to ask for? Things she doesn't already know, OR, yes, things she just made a business decision on- is feeling either good or insecure on- and seeking confirmation that it was the right way to do things.
I do believe that there are better ways to seek out advice that starting a thread on a public board. For instance, if you have a specific market in mind, as a client who is in the market share what attracted him to you and start accentuating that. Like attracts like, and guys here will "follow" other guys who seem to share their same taste. But when the girl has no clients that fit her target market? Let alone none at all? The board is a place that she can post. Asking for advice shows the clientele that she's interested in improving herself. However, it IS bad form to then get defensive when the advice wasn't what she wanted to hear.
What is that old adage for advertising? Someone needs to see the item 9 times before they buy? Not to compare us ladies to an item at the grocery store, but if a man has any interest at all, it will simply grow with each viewing until he bites. Whether those viewings are reviews, her website, her posts... This entire site is about our names getting out there to you guys.
Hey- even me responding to this post is marketing. Hey Guys! Look at me! I can put together a grammatically correct sentence! Woohoo! LOL.... (It's late! And if I have any typos or mistakes, please cut me slack, despite my opening the door wiiiiiiide open on that one.) ![]()
Kiss me,
Kate
Actually, you would be really surprised at what new girls ask for and want to know. Yes, part of it may be them just getting their names out and finding some innocuous way of getting it out, but others have made very detailed posts telling us what they are doing, and asking what they should be doing differently, if at all.
You are correct. Things move in packs, in a sense. I correspond with a handful of guys who share the same preference as me. And the best way to get advice is to target your inquiry towards that market. Don't be asking consumers at Wal Mart how they would feel or what they would do is Louis Vuitton came out with a new line of handbags or luggage, you know? But perhaps if ask some of Tumi's customers about the luggage.
Things take time. You can make changes to a site, but changes need to be absorbed.
And with the way the economy goes...clients are being more discriminating than ever before when determining whether to book an appointment.
To get clients it's like announcing they are new and arrived
