That's not been my experience. Ya, in football terms, they may let you run up and down the field. But, when you get to the red-zone, they can be just as passionate and obstinate as any woman looking out for her own best interests. Especially with the Japanese women I've known, they never say no, but you feel like you keep running into an invisible force field.
Then most any woman, from most any culture, who actually respects the man she's with would qualify as being "better". It's darn near impossible for a woman to show those qualities when she doesn't respect a man (whether he is undeserving of respect or whether its her own personal hang up that keeps her from respecting a deserving man). If you are lacking that sort of interaction, look at yourself long and hard and determine if you are indeed deserving of respect - and then practice choosing women who don't have their own internal issues that preclude them from being able to respect you.

American women its true we have more eqjuality than some other cultures. If you want to be the control factor i a relationship you may have to move to another country a woman brought here even from a culture where they are seen as less, in time will demand equality.
