Rare to see a Main Stream Media piece that shreds conventional hypocritical "wisdom."

I get so tired of seeing all the hype around trafficking, when I know of real and horrid cases the govt refuses to take on because they involve Latin American and Caribbean men in labor trafficking in our agricultural business rather than young sexy women in sex trafficking. The hypocrisy disgusts me.

Then you have to look at the stats in this particular article:
From just glancing at the article, it appears that there have been over 423 prostitution arrests so far this year. On average, it costs a city a little over $2000 to arrest one person for prostitution. That's $846,000 of NY taxpayer money that could be put to much better use.

Too bad the idiots in charge in AZ won't read it.  Facts from the "wrong" source are obviously not real as we all know from listening to the chuckleheads on TV.

not right and somewhat in-humane.  On the other hand, these workers might be better off than in their native country.

Yes, migrant work is a very complex issue. Next time we meet I'll tell you a personal story about it- illustrating the complexity. :)

But what I'm referring to is not typical  migrant farm work- in the cases i am referring to, there were abuses making the workers serious victims of human trafficking. And nobody from the government would do anything to help them. The only people who would help them (but couldn't do anything to the traffickers) were religious organizations. So the thrust to abate trafficking focuses primarily on sex trafficking. Which is, as us illustrated by this article, not the large scale issue all the hype would have you believe. So the hypocrisy (and prurience) is terribly harmful. :(
