Ran across this poem at an online poetry site. Thought that it might be appropriate for our discussion board

SO LET ME LOVE YOU

A fool I am to fall in love
A fool I am to stay,
But loving you brings me such joy
I'll never let love fly away.

Your soul I know I do not own,
I hold you for a single hour,
but in that fleeting bit of time
You give a taste of love's sweet power.

Thank you for the part you play
The mask you wear so things seem real,
And I can dream that love is mine
And truth is lent to how I feel.

So let me love you, my pretty lass,  (Change name as appropriate)
Love your laugh, your winsome smile.
Love your warmth, the joy you bring me.
So let me love you for awhile.

the sisters of mercy

The sisters of mercy, they are not departed or gone.
They were waiting for me when I felt that I couldn 't go on
and they bought me their comfort, and sometimes they bought me their
             song.
I hope you run into them, you who've been drifting along.

   -------------------------------

   ...
and it won't make me jealous if I hear that they've sweetened your night
We weren't lovers like that, and besides it would still be alright.

That is a very appropriate piece.... for all the angels who are out there. Would that there were thousands more !!!
I have been with some very dear providers, and some really bad providers. God bless the angels.... or maybe it should be, God bless the bad ones!!

I really enjoyed this poem ............it is deep. The part I think that would appy to either provider or hobbyist is :

Your soul I know I do not own,
I hold you for a single hour,
but in that fleeting bit of time
You give a taste of love's sweet power.

This is exactly how I feel when I spend quality time with a man. Being that I do not date other than this biz ....that single hour or two is all that matters ....nothing else matters during this time.

thank you for sharing.
kisses & licks.........
Mara

It's Leonard Cohen, Harry, buddy :P...and you and Dionisios are dating yourself! :P  One can also try Depeche Mode's "Sister of Night", from 1995's "Ultra", A Perfect Circle's "Magdalena' from their debut in 2000, or even The Cult's "She Sells Sanctuary" from 1985's "Love".

Still a better song compared to anything on your list.  Cohen can write circles around just about anybody I know.  Write me when a bunch of other bands do a tribute album (I'M YOUR FAN) to people on their list.   To bad he entered a Zen monastary and decided to sit the rest of this one out.  ... There are several Depeche Mode tribute albums out there, my friend.  As for Mr. Cohen, I still think about "Suzanne" on the soundtrack of "Breaking the Waves", with the amazing Emily Watson doing one of the best addled women in movie history (nominated for but robbed of the 1996 Best Actress Oscar).  The ending of that movie brings tears to my eyes every time.
