Not quite what I was hoping for, but some good options. Thanks to all for your help.
(Hopefully this isn't something that's been discussed here many times. I did a couple of searches because I assumed that it would have been.)
I paid my VIP dues in cash last time, but find this time that they have far fewer banks, and none in my area.
I also remember there having been another option in addition to Segpay. Does anyone have a back-story?
Thanks.
easiest way....
But most of them don't work well with overseas transaction...
In the past they used to have an option of sending a money order to a P.O Box in The Netherlands, but seems that the option has been discontinued.
If you have SO issues, how about doing the following..
1. Open Hobby Account with Credit Union or local Bank
2. Make sure you sign up for e-statements so they don't send anything to your HOME address
3. Get a debit card from the CU or Bank and use that Debit Card to pay for TER.
4. If you work in office job, you might want to keep it hidden in your drawer and locked up...
I don't know your individual situation so this may or may not suit you, but just trying to help here....

For me, being still a bit new, it was that I was generally wary of tying my name to reviews. It's all fiction, but I'm a shy author. I have four that I should post. The Trustcash option was nice for that.
I don't know what it says on actual bill as I don't pay for my VIP, but in the past when I used to pay it used to say CC Bill.

...Segpay requests a fair amount of personal information.
But you do have to fill out all the personal info including your social.
But you don't get paper statements in the mail. Only online.
I have used greendot for years and the sky has never fallen. I have a card with egads, my "real" name imprinted on it. You can reload them in Walmart without having to buy the moneypak cardboard thingie. I use the greendot for all my advertising, hotels, travel, Fallon expenses.
If I need to send someone a specific amount of money, I purchase a moneypak. To pay regular monthly bills, such as VIP here, I use my imprinted greendot cc. It is not illegal to place an ad online either. I agree with being cautious, but I think some are just a little overly so.
There are anonymous options for those interested...TrustCash would be one.........
Not quite what I was hoping for, but some good options. Thanks to all for your help.
1. Prepaid debit / credit cards do not work anymore. Federal law enacted last year bans the use of prepaid debit / credit cards for international transactions due to money laundering concerns and the ongoing war on terrorism.
2. Trust cash is your option but if your locations are limited.......
3. Green Dot and all those reloadable cards will work but they function the same way as a real credit card because your personal info has been verified with the credit bureaus.
4. Many ladies have Green Dot accounts, ask around and see if one is willing to use her Green Dot card to get you a membership. Guys have done this before, be sure to tip her well.
5. Someone recommended a separate checking account with e-statements and the card getting mailed to your office. This might work if you only have wife / so concerns but probably not if your concern is LE and a paper trail.
FYI - The billing providers that TER uses are third party so the description in the bill is usually discreet but you never know when someone recognizes the description and starts to ask too many questions.
6. The least reliable but still worth a shot is mailing a payment. Check the TER website and see if they will accept a standard money order or postal money order. Spend an extra $30 and mail it to them USPS Express Mail International with your TER handle on the money order. Within a week you should have VIP membership hopefully.
Last time they had deposit accounts with other banks, and I ended up using a Wells Fargo branch that was convenient. I'm going to the West Coast soon, so it looks as though I could renew through Trustcash while I'm out there.
that I need to go to some bank physically, that has a ton of cameras in it, and pay cash to a teller who may or may not know what service or product she or he is accepting it for. It doesn't seem very anonymous.
Is there no prepaid card that is accepted overseas? I need to look into the American Express prepaid gift card...I seem to remember reading somewhere that they may be accepted for international purchases.
...it's also an IT issue: voice and video take a lot of storage compared to texts and email, so they have tended to not be kept on file forever. It's less of an issue than it used to be, and now there are license plate and face recognition systems that make it possible to keep data on who was where without storing all of that (or just storing the frame from which a face or plate was identified). I honestly don't know.
