Posting reviews vs paying for membership

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before:
Posting vs not posting reviews.

For those of you that don't post, why not?

For those of you that do post reviews, would you help a guy who doesn't post, find a girl if he were posting on the "In Search of" board?

Do you view a guy that doesn't put forth any information and just takes from the site the same as a guy that only pays for the privilege of reading as a VIP?

RH

Personally, I believe in writing reviews as a means of providing the kind of information that I look to find.  If someone requests info from me, I look to see what they've written before, but not to see if they're "worthy".  I know what I like, but not what they like.  Seeing their reviews tells me something about them.  If I don't have an interest in seeing what type of lady they like, my info wouldn't help them much.

TER provides a wonderful service and opportunity by encouraging and rewarding it members for writing reviews thus it enhances its site for everyone.

I personally prefer to write reviews to gain my membership. I could easily pay $19.95 a month and I would make substantially more if I billed the time used rather than writing the reviews but for me there are two main benefits to writing the reviews.

One I help assure other hobbyists that certain providers are what they represent. I know that many have benefitted from those of us who take time to write reviews.

Second, it is a chance to "in a sense" re-live the moment.

I am reasonably certain many hobbyist don't enjoy or want to take the time to write reviews. Consequently, for them paying for a membership is quicker and easier. Their contribution is equally important. It helps provide the funds necessary to maintain this site. Consequently, it is a symbiotic relationship in which we all help each other.

With regard to members making inquiries, if I can I try to help them regardless of whether they write reviews. I think that is the spirit of this site.

OFF :-)

Many are lazy, or selfish, or claim they "don't have the time".

On your first question "For those of you that don't post, why not?". Don't expect an answer. Those person's do not post reviews, nor do they tend to give back to the community via the discussion boards. They choose to remain UTR so to speak as much as they can.

For those same people who do not post reviews helping me. Great, but since they have no reviews to their name, not much weight will be given to whatever they say.

There are ISO and 411's on every board because of the transient nature of our hobby. My policy is to not respond or provide help to those ISO and 411 posts from an alias, for the obvious reasons. They can be LE, BTK or just plain wierd.

I will try to help a person, even if they are not review writers in the spirit of what the boards were designed for. It my be by posting or may be PMing the person with my advice or recommendations.

I do have a personal issue with slapping ladies names onto the board for anyone. I may PM them or ask them to email me off line for information. I do not know that any of the fine ladies out there want me to be plastering their name on the boards for every ISO and 411 that comes down the pike.

37 cents worth.

I think it's important to share information with other folks in the hobby, and that it improves the experience for everyone if we share quality information.  I think answering a politely (and clearly) worded question not only puts the information out there for others who may have been wondering something similar, or who just may not have gotten around to asking, but it also sets up a precedent for Those Who Know to help out Those Who Don't Know.

That made it a lot easier for me to get into the hobby, and it is an important part of the attitude I think we have to have in order to keep the hobby community healthy and growing.  If every newbie is greeted with a cranky, "Read the damn FAQ and the reviews, and stop bothering people!", then most of them will go find someplace else, and they'll never wind up contributing.  However, if we make it plain that information is readily available if you just ask nicely, then someday, some of those newbies will become full-fledged TER patrons providing their own input and info.

I enjoy posting reviews, and will provide help if I can, but if not, then I chip in my $19.95 per month, and just go with it.  I'm not going to put any real effort into helping someone who posts a two-sentence "I'm in LA. Recommend a good fuck for me" post, but if someone tells us where he is, and gives us some detail about what he's hoping to find, and I can set him up with a quality lady, I'm all for it.

I too believe in sharing information.  Others have helped me years ago when I first found TER and I will do my best to do the same for those seeking assistance.  I post reviews if the lady says it's OK.  Believe it or not, some ladies do not want a review on TER.  I respect their wishes.

... I would have to see two providers a month and review each and every one of them.  Which makes a VIP membership verrrrrrry expensive!

Ok...I have never written a review (granted I have never really had an appointment per se...in the strictest sense...but that aside) and I don't think I ever would.

As to the why...
One: nothing that would happen in a session with me would be applicable to what would happen in a session with the vast majority of folks that read reviews.
What would happen with me wouldn't even really be applicable to couples, or threesomes, and since I have the sum total experience equivalent to a teen girl "playing" with her friends at a slumber party, any review written by me wouldn't even help any women that were looking to see a lady for an appointment.

Two: It could be argued, that in my limited experience, that what I do doesn't even exactly qualify as activities that could be reviewed...there is no intercourse, and even if there were it would be done with a store bought phallis...what most those who read reviews here consider compulsory experiences in a session I can't do really...and the sum total of what I can or do would barely rank for the readers as foreplay...and not even foreplay they could relate to in any actual sense.

Three:  I am not a fan of the gory details, I don't really have it in me to write out the specifications of what and didn't happen...for me personally those are simply my experiences.

Four: since I am not comfortable with writing down what happens, coupled with it really being of no use for the members here...I can't see doing something that isn't in me to do, for the sake of being useless.

I do like to think my posts on the board might be of some help to someone, somewhere...though they probably aren't...I allow myself a few delusions.

I also, am well aware that whereas the reviews might be why most come to and join this site (not me, but most) I am also aware that if every memeber obtained their membership through reviews and not paying, there would be no TER.  There would be no money for servers, no money for programers, no money for Staff to be able to dedicate his time to this site...at best it would be a tiny site, run by folks doing it part-time after they worked the jobs that paid their bills....so TER needs the cash just as much as they need the reviews...if not more, because all the reveiws in the world won't buy a server, won't pay for advertising, won't get a site running or keep it live, etc...

...do such a poor job of communicating, that it's difficult to help them due to not really understanding what they want.  I usually help them by telling them to learn how to read and write.  But since I don't think they can read, it's doubtful that my advice was understood.

So both reviewers and donaters are necessary to keep TER alive.  I think it would be great if there were more honest and fair reviews.  Initially, I reviewed a girl just to help her out since she was unknown.  Then I kept reviewing girls because I enjoyed the VIP status and realized that a lot of people were sending me private messages.

I usually post a review for a new girl who doesn't have any or if my VIP status is running out.  I wish I knew how much time I had left.

Go to the "VIP Community" link on the top menu.
Click on "Account manager" on the left hand menu.
Click on "Edit My Profile".
at the bottom of that page look for "Days in Membership Bank", that's how many VIP days you have left.

If on the other hand you meant a more "how many days" you have left in the life sort of way....I can't help ya.

It tells you how many days you have in the bank.

Thanks for the posts.

I've decided not to respond to guys asking for info who don't post reviews.

There are many guys here that have absolutely no manners. I've gotten many PM's asking about a certain girl I've reviewed. I'll answer their questions and not even a thank you back. And it's mostly been from guys that don't post reviews.

Some guys need to be taught simple manners that should bave been taught to them by their parents....the shame the parents would have if they knew how their kids are now...
