I had another hobby experience this past weekend as it has gotten me thinking. It is my forth since returning from a 2 year absence. It was my first at a FS MP. The girl was attractive, kind, and it did fulfill my basic need but it definitely lacked something. My experience from several weeks ago was far superior but it took a great deal more effort to arrange (that experience was with a highly rated/reviewed indy provider). The cost of these two experiences were approximately the same.
So, here is my question. Do you guys find that a non-scheduled (walk-in) appointment with an established MP / AMP is better? Or, do you prefer advanced booking method through an agency / indy provider more to your liking? (I realize that a choice is not necessary as both could be utilized but for the sake of this discussion please state your preference and why).
... too much dough gets passed around in the hobby world for very little return. The reviews on TER alone portend a worse fate for those that think picking a lovely lady out of the catalog is going to do the trick. During the year, there are times I get flush with cash and that makes me even more diligent when it comes to who I will see... MPs and AMPs are places where you can drop a few coins and not miss them, but don't expect much else than "in and out."
I am not a last minute guy, so appointments are the way to go for me. I like to pick the lady, so going to a MP and seeing who is available is hit or miss for me.

On the other hand, I've had some great luck meeting wonderful gals at MP's. A few of them are people I've seen off campus now for many years.
So, if you feel adventurous, and don't like to plan ahead but go spur of the moment, by all means give it a shot.
Just keep your senses fine tuned to local LE activity which was murder a couple of years ago.
It's over a 2 hour drive to see my ATF, so it requires some fair amount of scheduling, but it is worth it for the great time that I know I will have.
However, there is also a good "jack shack" located nearby that I will use when time is short.
No, not that kind, but the evolution of my experience level. There were different times of my life when I explored different venues. When I worked downtown near a couple of AMPs on Ludlow, I explored that scene until I felt ready to move on. Next I tried the more reputable houses that had ads in the City Paper, and then the Internet came along!
I am one of those quality providers who does not and cannot afford to see just anybody on a momen't notice but as a result I do not get much business from my local area.
My business usually comes from professionals who travel to the city and have the time to prebook, send deposits etc. I have on a few occasions felt bad about turning away potentially great clientel for no other reason then they could not give me more of a head's up so to speak.LOL!
I do not want a TON of business but I would like to find a way to see both types of clients. I have a very busy schedule with school, work, and family so I am rarely available. I was considering taking one day a week and getting all my affairs in order so that I would be able to accomodate new clients who could not book in advance..
Here is the problem....if you look in my local area on other boards you will see that most of the out of town girls are skipping this city for reasoning that consists of "Guys cancel at last minute without calling, guys are dirty, guys are cheap, on and on.
My other problem comes into play because I only book one client a day and how could I be sure the one I book for the day I set aside would even show up without a deposit.....
Any help, suggestions from ladies and gents would be greatly appreciated.
To answer the poster's question, although not a hobby....I think most men enjoy both! If they have the extra time and money to spend on a quality experience and they can plan it out, they certainly will. If money is short and you are in need of a quickie, they are not hard to find.
Isabella, I have been seeing mostly independent ladies, such as yourself, for over 5 years and have only done a deposit once. I try to find quality ladies who are well-reviewed, meaning reliable.
Hopefully, the ladies verify me that I am not only safe but reliable as well. I have cancelled but twice and both times because of bad colds. I gave the ladies a minimum of 24 hours notice each time.
My suggestion is for you (and others) to screen better to increase the reliability and quality of your expereince. NCNS are no good for either the lady or the gent.
I have a pretty much flat rule. I don't give deposits. I seek out well reviewed ladies or reputable agencies. I show up on time. I only cancel if I am ill (twice in 5+ years) and in both cases gave a much notice as was possible.
I have booked as far out as 2 weeks and as short notice as 4 hours. Without problem or complaint.
You need to run your business in the fashion that makes you most comfortable. We as hobbyists will decide if we are comfortable doing business in that fashion.

I usually use screeing, deposits, advanced bookings, as a way for me to determine if I will be compatible with someone.
I have a very FULL private life so I cannot set aside multiple hours for a date, make arrangements for my business to be take care of, arrange child care, and then risk losing all that time and money without a deposit; however, I have compromised and created a package to accomodate those who do not want to send a deposit. Promlem is, the "goodies" that come with the deposit sessions cannot be included as they cost ME money.

How does any of this ensure compatibility? It may ensure that you get paid, but I can't see how in any way that it ensures that you are compatible. Statements like this just reinforce my position that I cannot ever see myself sending a deposit.
I don't trust the AMP enough to go, and sense I would have to drive 4 hours to enjoy any part of the hobby, I choice to plan. I want to make sure when I get there all is taken care of and the chance of running into LE is as limited as possible, but that is only my 2 cents...
I know what I'm going to get in terms of price and quality of service. I'll leave there with the car happy - all things touched just right, fluids checked and ready to go at the roads again.
At an independent shop you "might" get most of the experience correctly, but they don't know a Lexus as well as the dealership.
And the "extras" that you get while waiting at the Lexus dealership can't be duplicated by the "generic shop."

Quality Quality....always Quality!
Quality is of utmost importance. So I try to see only low-volume, well-reviewed providers.
I'm so fortunate that my ATF is of definite quality, and also convenient. Also I feel safe. Safety (no LE, drama, and good self-care) is as important, to me, as quality and convenience.
I would say ease of actually getting to the incall and in the door in important because you dont need stress ontop of the stress of meeting a new provider. A vague set of instructions to a apartment or condo complex you've never been to before can result in a loss of time and upset the provider who should of given you detailed instructions in the first place. I find that coming from the regular dating scene where you try to last as long as possible to then have to pop 2 or more times in an hour is an adjustment. I had to bring a protein shake and bar to refuel and Im sorry but I need 2 hours to get 2 good ones off. The good thing is each one gives you a different aspect of what you want and a few do it all well and you only have to deal with them when you want to. A provider told me that she had a date with a regular guy and he would have to wait 3 or more dates to even get a bj when I just fucked her brains out. The poor and nieve never win.
