How many carry their Cell Phones all the time?
How many can check their email on it?
How many can get a IM (yahoo, gmail, aim etc)
how many can gets Texts (SMS)
Do you have pre programed quick text phrases and use them?
How many Have voice mail? or receive calls on it?

Why do I find it hard to believe that people do not check, email, texts, or voice mail for several days at a time?

A courtesy of a reply, would go a long way in getting/keeping clients. Etiquette for today's hobby world!

But occasionally I like to be free from the techno tether, off the grid, and don't use any technology....  So if you call/text/etc during those times it may be a few days before I return it.

In those cases do you leave an auto responder that says you will be away for such and such a time?

Those ladies just keep calling and texting all the time, day in and day out and I need a break!!!!  ROTFLMAO  ok I can dream cant I??

In answer to your Q, I have my phone set up with several different email accounts.  Several voicemail accounts too.

Also, I carry my phone almost all the time except when I'm exercising, watching a movie, or sleeping
(or sleeping WITH someone lol)

It can of course do IM but I only have one IM set up because I can't handle too many friends constantly IMing me when I'm out.  On my phone, the only contacts on my IM are close friends or families. I use the IM more than TXT because it is free.

If someone doesn't respond to my email within 2 or 3 days, I take it as a personal insult. In fact I get emotionally scarred for the rest of my life and lose all hope and purpose in life.  I have at times considered suicide when someone ignores my 6 page email.

My phone recieves and makes calls, texts and I can occasionally check email - not so good at replying to it via phone but I can check it.

It doesn't do pictures, it can't track a satellite from space, it can't navigate my car, etc.  Its a basic dumb phone.

When my son is home or I am busy with someone or out in public, I turn my dumb phone off or put it on slient and I only return calls if the caller left a message asking for a return call or if the call was missed less than 15 min ago.

If you tried to call my dumb phone and I didnt answer, and didn't return your call, feel free to call back, maybe you just caught me at a bad time earlier.

Also btw, any calls recieved between midnight and 8am will not be returned, please call during regular hours if you are serious about talking to me.

Not checking for messages is not the same thing as not returning them.  Maybe you should just move on to another lady.

When I want to be available for calls when out of the office, or if I'm out on the weekend, I carry it, but that's all

I don't want to be on a phone call on a land line and then a cell phone call comes in, or vice versa.

My phone just makes calls and does text messages, plus I do check the voice mail at least twice a day.

By the way, I hate text messages.  What's wrong with speaking to someone?

My Voicemail.. well,, It fills up quickly.. I suppose I could call you back 2 days later. but out of consideration for YOU. I assume your wife or boss would be wondering who I am... since you were not expecting my call at that time

It would also help if you left your phone number instead of something like " Hey baby, its me JOE, call me back"

One last thing to mention. If you have called me between the hours of 11pm and 7 am. I assume you are not the one for me... My phone is turned off at 9 pm every night and when Jessica is walks out the door to spend time with her family.....

I carry mine 95% close enough.
I check email on it as much as I can every 2 hrs or more frequent if i can help it.
I get all the im's on my phone but only use YIM (yahoo) and that's rate
I can text them but rather not unless you know I know who you are.
Yeah have auto-correct/predictive text and can't figure how to turn it off.

It's possible not to check any of this for days at a time due to whatever personal issues (self, relationship, family) or illness or vacation.

I too have a dumb phone. I like it that way. I take it everywhere I go. It takes calls and it receives texts. It also sends same. If you want to talk to me you have to be someone I know or someone I have contacted and am expecting a return communique. My life is much simpler because I don't cater to my technology it caters to me. The people that matter know I will get back to them right away. Everyone else can wait. I check my e-mail when I am home. I respond if necessary. I like my dumb phone. I will visit all those with nervous breakdowns from never having a moments peace from their technology and my phone will likely be in my pocket on silent.

I do know how it feels though to be expecting a return call, text, e-mail and not get it. But there are many to see and if one doesn't call back after a reasonable time call someone else. Your blood pressure and well being are not worth someone else's tardiness or indifference. If it isn't tardiness or indifference but merely the rest of their life taking priority surely you can't fault them for that. Control what can be controlled and let the rest go.

I’m innately quick to answer calls & texts. But I ain't gonna text while driving, and if I'm on my Bike I'm simply incommunicado until my next stop, or I’m home.

then i generally dont use phone and emails an awful lot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,til its getn time to scheudle again,,,,,,,,,,,,,but............................ i also get some weirtd pains for whatev reason for using blackberry and thats why i have the landline with the 100 dollar old fashioned secretary head set, !!! I hate phones and emails................if i didnt get sharp pains when i used them maybe it be dif,,,,,,,,,i generally try n book then stay off them for that reason, i used to be different before this weird chronic neck issue arised, I hav appt with orthopedic specialist at this ambulatory center, havent rea;lly gotten answers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,woke up and couldnt lift my arm last june!!!!!!thought sumthin was broke! got x rays! its beyond me what exactly is the prob,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for whatev reason thumb and pointy finbger when pressin buttons on black berry is agony,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,me personally i dont use alot but i have reasons.,,,,,,,,,
