Good evening all how do you know when it's time to get out of the hobby ? I've had a run of bad luck with providers lately and seems like its time ? Thoughts
... If it does not turn you ON anymore... The thought of IT does not make you stirred emotionally or stimulated to activity ( btw, that's the definition of 'excited' )...
That's how you know!
But I think YOU are willing to play more ![]()
Can be a simple change.
If you can't afford it or your priorities have changed is a good time to leave.
Also if you are not having fun anymore or the original purpose when you first joined is not getting served anymore, then it would be a good time to quit.
...the providers you see well enough to avoid "a run of bad luck."
If you are no longer having fun or have had bad experiences, it could be affecting the way you come off to a new provider with out you realizing it. Like you go in thinking negatively because you have had crappy times, or are not getting what you need...
So that negative energy could be causing the provider to act differently, with you... thus not allowing for a connection, relaxed and fun time etc...
You may be putting off negative or angry vibes in little things you do or say, or body language... not even realizing your doing it!
My advice, regroup, mentally and when you are in the right mind set, you may discover the fun again!
Run out of money, or get an STD.
In either case I might just change my hobby to parachute jumping...without an instructor.
You'll be amazed by how much your "luck" will change.
Maybe take off a few weeks or months? Maybe longer.
A lot of people leave but a lot also return at some point.
But you can never leave" (Eagles-Hotel California)
Just announce you're taking a sabbatical if you feel the need too. Please spare the readership another "I'm turning a new chapter", narcissistic, sanctimonious, follow me on twitter, bullshit retirement declaration.
Hobbyist or provider; in one way or another you'll return
LOL, though I agree with the song reference in that this life will always somehow be in your mind, it does not have to be in your life. I know many who walked and have never returned, because that part of their life has been replaced with something else, they view as more important. Morseo, for the gals, I would assume. Many women are here to do a JOB, and that is it. Once that financial need is no longer an issue and they have careers, finish school, get married, etc. you won't see them back, unless they are just too stupid to make anything of themselves.
For guys...not so easy. When that urge hits that they claim is a NEED, or the new GF starts slipping, it's too easy not to come back. For many women, they don't view this as 'easy' though.
But finding a mainstream paycheck resembling what one made while hooking isn't "easy" either.
Too be fair; men would be just as quickly addicted to the money in hooking if the gender dynamics were switched. Historically men have undertaken equally insalubrious vocations or worse, and for far less compensation.
to hobby successfully. If you are not willing to do that or inspite of your efforcts you are not having a good time, either rethink or take time off... long, short, or permanant is up to you. Do you see well reviewed providers? Do you read the full reviews to see if what you want is even offered? Do you see the profile & see if the services promised are delievered, pictures are currant & real? Then check her ads for pictures?
These are the purpose of TER & if you are not using TERs services fully that might explain your lack of "good luck."
I have to budget but with good research can still have a good time.
The "ups" are so incredible though, it makes me forget all the "downs." The problem for you is, if you get out now, you just might miss the next "up" cycle. And it sounds like you are due for one, too. Just a thought.
Take a break from the hobby, as a couple of others have suggested. Every time a hobbyist announces a retirement, they seem to un-retire somewhere down the road ...LOL.
I've gone on hiatus a few times for various reasons. Sometimes I just need a change of pace or a fresh perspective on things and take a short break. If I get bored, sometimes I explore the hobby scene in other countries when I'm on vacation.
