TER management could establish a Stupid Questions Board. Instead of FAQ, it could be IAQ [Infrequently Asked Questions].
Perhaps it could be a subset of the Newbie Board?
it's an acronym for Stupid-Ass Questions or, as i would put it, Stupidly Asked Questions?
it also plays nicely with "dumb as a SAQ of hammers". 
1) i like the fact that GD is at least some sort of "general" slice of hobby life.
2) i have faith that Darwin can take care of them without _additional_ help.

Let's draw the distinction between Stupid and Ignorant. Ignorance can be cured (usually starting with the Newbie board) and advanced Ignorance can be remedied through education at the more advanced level of community responses. Sometimes it's a painful process for the one learning the lesson, and there are occasional entertainment by-products for the rest of us.
So if it's an Ignorant question, let them stay and we can hope that they will receive an education. If it's truly Stupid, then there's no way to cure that (aside from Darwinian selection) and we should shuffle them to oblivion.
Remember, we're all ignorant, just in different areas...

GaGambler, I am not and was not being disingenuous. You took that statement too literal. I meant in the bigger picture, who are ANY of us really to decide what is a stupid question. That's where that phrase "the only stupid question is a question not asked" came from. We, as a curious and free-thinking group of people, ought to feel as though we are able to ask a question or express our thoughts and feelings without someone else telling us that we are wrong or stupid. In my opinion, just because this particular group of curious and free-thinking people is on this board does not make this any less true. People learn through asking questions and getting feedback. I do believe even some of the most intelligent people on this board have had their opinions swayed through reading what others have posted here. Does that mean their previous opinion was a stupid one? No, it does not.

Actually, I'm usually quite patient, and if I feel a question is that stupid, I don't waste my time in responding. There are exceptions, like when someone thinks they're being quite brilliant, and yet asking a dumb question.
Rather than stupid is versus stupid does...
How about a separate board for post not absolutely related to the hobby?
