If i tour a city,I give it 2 tries before I call it quits. For example Dallas.I toured there twice and it was crickets lol.But if you are in Chicago just know that it is really slow here in the summertime.I am Chicago based and its been like this since fourth of July weekend unfortunately.Business will start to pick up in a few weeks
Did I make at least four figures above travel costs for the last visit? (Modified to include that I mean a weeklong visit) Is my take-home loot, even if underwhelming, increasing with each visit? Is the time spent in transit and recovering from the visit not turning into an opportunity cost? Is one less-than-stellar trip bookended by good ones? Are the reviews resulting from visits helping (or maintaining) my good record? If any of these are "no", then I don't go back. One meh visit isn't too daunting, but two in close succession is.
It's many providers here and they rely heavily on locals or highly coveted providers from other cities. It's been somewhat busy for me this month but I'm still new. Chicago is also filled with people who want last minute bookings. I'm going on my first tour in a few weeks and I'm going for another reason and just decided to tour. I'm too new and don't like wasting money to tour only for the sake of touring unless someone books me for an extended date I'm staying home. lol
loved Chicago and did very well there. Of course, they were GG's. I think other than the occasional gender-confused customer, it would be a little different market for you. I have never heard it said that Chicago has a large gay population on the order of someplace like San Francisco. You have implied you have been there before and it was similarly slow. How many times before you get the message and throw in the towel?
For example, Chicago has great Thai providers for $200 - any Asian that goes to Chicago is not going to do very well against local competition. Same with Bay Area/LA K-girls.
Dallas and Atlanta have wonderful girls of all races in the $200 to $250 range, any travelers charging more than $300 is not going to do well in both cities..
How many times you visit a town that hasn't paid off the way you hoped or expected, before you stop visiting that town?
I'm experiencing such a case with Chicago. I absolutely love that frigging city but every time I go it's sort of a bust for me.
When people ask about touring on the local boards, I remind them to check the local schedules for things like sporting events, especially playoffs or other features (can suck discretionary dollars out of a wallet real fast); local events (the annual Family Week of Picnics, Games, Movies and Concerts that can slow things down by keeping Dads occupied) and so on. There are also things like the President coming to town or an Elvis or Michael Jackson concert completely shutting down an area you planned to stay. Other current event News items could effect business. "Police have quadrupled patrols at the downtown hotels since the recent jewel robberies." or "Broken water main in downtown Chicago will shut down city for two weeks!" Most big cities have a visitor's and convention bureau, e.g., http://www.choosechicago.com/ That can help to gauge the availability of hotel rooms and whether there will be a lot of frisky conventioneers with money
Some cities may start becoming good after the 5th visit while others after the 2nd visit. Sometimes it takes a while for you to start becoming a " known touring provider" in the area.
it could also be timing. Chicago was fine in the winter and that was in Oakbrook but it wasn't so good in the summer. It really depends, each state has a different movement for example places like NYC is pretty much good and stable at any time in my opinion it just depends on how you advertise and market yourself. Try Chicago a few more times during different seasons before you cancel that city out. Best wishes.
