resident strip-club junkie.  Personally, I have no idea.  That kind of money would cover many hours of hobbying with escorts, so I don't get the attraction either.

You can easily spend $5k in a stripclub if you visit a high end "upscale" club and spend hours in overpriced champagne rooms with multiple dancers and many bottles of top shelf booze (assuming the club serves booze). AAMOF in some NYC clubs $5k would be a buy-in for some whales.

Me? I usually spend 1/10th of that and have a time comparable or even better than a playdate with a provider. Most of us club junkies don't spend nearly as much as some think, tho it is dependent upon the area that you live in and the types of clubs you visit.

A guy I know of put over $30K on plastic at a club here in Vegas.  It sparked a divorce, which he must have wanted anyway, but when asked about it, he said 'Four girls in a Private Room for about eight hours... I thought it was only going to be about $20K.. and shrugged.'

Any guy (girl) who is a bit drunk, very horny and easily manipulated can easily spend $5,000 and never even get close to getting laid even if spending several times that amount.

Back when I was in Tulsa I took some guys to the only strip club in the city where you could get an actual drink, a club that would hardly be called "upscale" by any stretch of the imagination and they (three of them) blew well over five grand on some pretty homely girls, but went on and on about what a great time they had for several days afterwards. My damage for the evening? about fifty bucks, I bought the first round of drinks and then sat back and watched my clients chase after a bunch of girls, the hottest of which would not score higher than a TER 6 in appearance.

Now, try going to a strip club in a city like LA or NYC and everything I described would have been at least triple in price, but at least they would have been chasing some serious hotties.

I used to do the club thing alot, but my ATF retired and it just wasn't the same anymore. Comparing a night out at a club with hobbying is apples and oranges. If you're not on a budget, they're both fun.

This guy obviously was abusing his expense privilege and deserved to get canned. I've done it with pricey dinners and wine, but never turned in a strip club expense report (or even hotel porn PPV).

A girl I saw as a provider who went into great detail about how this works. The clubs in her area (she dances at one of them), have various VIP rooms and party rooms. She described several parties that she was either one of the girls involved in it, or it occurred while she was working wherein the tab was over 10 grand. It's the level of service, the number of girls involved in the party, and the types of liquor served (expensive wine and Champaign) that make the tab that high

VIP rooms, champagne, entertaining a group of people, not just one guy. I've known people to have a several grand bar tab in a regular bar (not strip club), or dinner tabs even. When entertaining people and trying to impress, it can be really easy.  
The isiot's problem was trying to expense it on the company account.  

where in hell would you find a "no alcohol" strip joint?  Are we talking USA  or someplace like Iran?

They used to be quite common and there are still huge numbers of them, mainly in the south and the "heartland" from my experience.

As I was saying in my earlier post, I lived in Tulsa a while back (yes, please pity me) and of the handful of strip clubs in that city you could only get an actual drink in one. and yes, you needed to get drunk to find any of the women there attractive. When I would go there with clients I always positioned my chair so as to have my back to the stage. I found the drinks tasted better that way. lol

Don't know about other parts of the country, but here in LA (and Cali in general) if it's a nude club there is no alcohol served or allowed. If you want to get your drink on you have to go to a topless club, which are usually much tamer in the kind of lappies that they offer.

As a multi thousand visit, certified, strip club aficionado,  working in strip clubs a couple  of my younger years, not stripping... lol, and enjoying the leisurely entertainment value of strip clubs most of my entire life, I've often seen the exact scenario you described  
   
    I agree 100%,  a  horny, drinking man, can easily spend $5,000.00  or more in a short night with no sex involved.
 
When a guy is buying multiple bottles of Champagne at hundreds per bottle for his entire table, and tipping with the big spenders, five grand is gone quick.  
 Even low rent strip clubs with alcohol will sell $ 50.00  Champagne for $ 300.00.  
   
   If he's doing basic lap dances and she's got him on her line, playing him, four hundred minimum gone every thirty minutes,  not including tips.  
   The DJ isn't playing Free Bird, they're playing short songs for bigger  tips.

   Some  men have absolutely no social skills outside their home and close connections.
   Those guys find something in strip clubs they crave.
   Gals  fawning over them. Who wouldn't want that on a whim ?

I've heard strippers laugh while mentioning  their customer, with their version of an old saying,  "That  fool and his money are parting soon "
  I believe it's  rude to mock the mark that's paying her bills within earshot of others, but when  the subject is the strippers business, I keep my mouth shut and opinion to myself, like the introverted guys.  lol

  If he's enjoying himself while spending money frivolously, his children aren't hungry, he might be dead next week, have fun every way you can.    
   
 More than a few times I've seen someone  who just received an insurance settlement check, an inheritance,  a salesperson who just earned a big commission or bonus,  etc.  come into a strip club with five  grand or more in his pocket and walk out with nothing but  happiness  for the big shot role he played and the attention he rented.
  I'll never forget the car mechanic  who walked in the club early summer and showed the Gals a sixty grand insurance check he just picked up.
  They milked him hard until he was broke by Fall.  
   
        I know a guy who probably spends an average of five  grand every month, in the club.  
    He said   he doesn't like his wife and she doesn't like him but they don't want to  
get divorced.    
  I reckon the stripper  illusion is working for him, he's still married and he hasn't slowed down on his  visits, from what he's told me.
   
   I've seen a low rent strip club owner come into another low rent club and drop ten grand on the stage in twenties, in less than an hour, just because he could and he probably enjoyed the attention from strippers not working for him.  
   Or perhaps he was covertly soliciting Gals to work at his club?  

 I imagine most of  the guys putting strip club tabs on their expense account are top dogs in their company or too drunk to care about their job.  

  I went to a no alcohol strip club in LA years ago,  that place  was mighty tame compared to what I'm accustomed to, but it was in the daytime.  
   
  The only other no alcohol strip club I've been to was in Roanoke Va.    
  The Gals were wild in there, total nude, hot, close contact,  and extremely friendly.

The best strip clubs are well south of the border, actually south of the equator. Some of the clubs I have been to in Columbia, Ecuador and Argentina were just fucking fabulous, and I hear the ones in Brazil are even better if possible.  I remember on a trip to Ecuador stopping at a place considered a "rip off" by local standards, but for a $125, you got an hour with a hot Colombiana in a VIP room with a bed about twice the size of king size and a Jacuzzi that would probably hold a dozen people. I was really tempted to just spend the entire night in there and just rotate chicas every hour or two, at a buck and a quarter per hour it would have been barely a grand for the entire night and this did include both the house fee and the tip for the chica. I've never looked at American strip clubs the same ever since.

There were state regulations passed back in the 80's (I heard it was during the 80's) that determined that booze & nudity didn't mix well. Pretty lame. Vegas is the same way, except for the Palomino Club, which is outside of their jurisdiction and was grandfathered in to keep it's liquor license and also offer nude entertainment.

I still remember when the Palomino Club and the two Crazy Horse clubs were the only strip clubs in Vegas. Damn, I must be old. lol

...of the strip clubs. (we're talking full nudity though the dancers were required to wear shoes) They figured the clubs couldn't stay in business if there was no alcohol. Ordinances were changed to no alcohol in strip clubs. One club shut down in less than a week. Another lasted a year or so. The last hold out went out of business after about 10 years. It was the only strip club in the county for the last 8 years. The county got what it wanted. There were far too many options in surrounding counties for customers seeking booze and strippers.

He also opened a gay club in downtown Marietta right after the Olympics, just to piss off the local authorities. It worked, the club didn't even last a year. BTW he was most definitely NOT gay, just open minded in a county that was anything but.

If you remember, Cobb County got ZERO Olympic venues when they were held in Atlanta in 96, this was out of protest to Cobb County's anti LGTB policies. MARTA also stops right at the edge of Cobb County as they don't want "those kind of people" in their county. It's also a horrible place to be a hooker, most smart women refuse to host in Cobb County.
