In the early 60's, it was still hosiery and garter belts, and I totally approve of that look- especially with seamed stockings!  Not only do they make your legs look great, there is nothing sexier than the soft skin of your inner thigh as your hand explores the smooth texture of your stockings, only to find even smoother skin waiting for you at the top.

Pantyhose, by comparison, are the worst thing to ever happen to pussy foreplay.  I don't know how anybody could find them sexy, but to each his own.

im a huge pantyhose fan. its a way to bring street wear/office wear to the bedroom, and vice versa.  i think they flatter your legs (and ass!), love the sound they make, brings another  touch of style/tailoring to your look, like haveing cuffs on your pants. a dynamite pair of pumps and pantyhose (no underwear of course) and a man's dress shirt is my favorite outfit for my lady-of-the-moment.
