i wouldn't skimp on the comprehensives.

i would also not necessarily keep to a set schedule. for example, if there is a protection failure i'd also test at 3 months after that date since an earlier test might not be so informative.

minimal tests should include gonorhea, syphilis, chlamidia, and HIV.

Some would add HSV1 and 2.  However you will create for yourself quite a moral and anxiety dilemma if you are antibody positive for HSV2 but never have lesions, sores, or symptoms.

You'll join the 25% of the population who would test positive... 90% of which who don't know it.  Many would righteously shout yes, test and find out and obstain from the hobby if you are positive, and some would say ignorance is bliss.  You must decide that one for yourself.
